The game buzzer sounded as I took my final shot. It felt like things were moving in slow motion and the whole stadium was quiet. As the ball flew through the air everyone stood watching to see if it was going in. Once I heard the swish of the ball going into the net everyone went crazy. You could hear the crowd going wild, my team ran on the court high-fiving me, pushing my head, and just hyping me up. I hit the winning shot for our team. 83-79 was the final score. This was a game going in the books for sure.
After doing a interview with the reporter and speaking to a few of my celebrity friends, I made my way to where I saw that beautiful woman from earlier.
"Hi." I spoke loud enough for her to hear.
"Mommy! Look! Oh my God! It's him! It's him!" The little boy beside her started going crazy making me chuckle. The woman looked up at me with a confused look then her face softened some when she saw me.
"Wassup little man." I said shaking his hand.
"I can't believe it! Momma I shook THE Allen Iverson's hand!" She giggled at her son and it was the prettiest giggle I've heard.
"Can I get your autograph please?"
"Now Honey we don't want to bother him."
"But momma." The little boy started to wine.
"Hey, it's cool I got you." I took my sweatband off my arm and the little boy handed me a marker. "What's your name man?"
"J Drew." He said.
I signed my sweatband and handed it to him. "Woooow." He said as he looked at it.
"J what do you say?" His mother softly spoke. She had such an angelic voice.
"Thank you so much Mr.Iverson"
"No problem little dude." I smiled then looked at his mother. "And can I get your name?" I asked her.
She moved a piece of hair behind her ear before speaking. "My name is Karen." She smiled. Whew there go that smile again.
"Nice to meet you Karen." I put my hand out to shake her hand and she shook it.
"Thank you so much for giving my son an autograph. You are one of his favorite players." She softly spoke.
"No problem. I love looking out for my fans." I put my fist out and J Drew and I fist bumped.
"Aye Allen, come on!" I heard one of my teammates call out.
"Karen can I ask you sumn before I go?"
"Um sure." She looked at me with those beautiful brown eyes. She was so gorgeous she was making a nigga nervous, and that's not a normal thing with me.
"Um I was thinking if I could give you my number or something?" I rubbed the back of my neck. "If not it's cool" I quickly say.
She giggled at me realizing I was nervous and she stood up grabbing her purse. She reached in it and pulled out her phone handing it to me. I took it and quickly put my number in her phone. I called the number just so when I get to my phone I'll have her number already.
"Cool, I'll talk to you soon." I handed it back to her and she smiled. "Nice meeting you little man." I fist bumped J Drew again and I headed to the locker rooms when the whole team was.
When I walked in they all started to cheer and whistle, some even dapped me up.
"Aye Iverson I saw you over there spitting game at that fine ass light skin. You lucky you got to her first cause if you didn't I was gonna make my way over there." Derrick Coleman said and the whole team erupted into laughs.
I shook my head and laughed at him. Derrick was my homeboy we became close when I had joined the team. He's had my back ever since. We're like the unstoppable duo, on and off the court.
"So did you get it?" Derrick asked me.
"Get what?"
"Boy don't act stupid. Did you get them digits?" He asked me and everyone looked at me.
"Do you know who you're asking? Hell yeah I got the digits." The whole locker room erupted into a big cheer.
"Tonight must be yo lucky night then." Derrick spoke as he high-fived me.
Tonight really must be my lucky night....
