An Awkward First Impression

I woke long before the sun did. Something I do most mornings, if I sleep at all. Today was the first day of my senior year, and though my classmates from last year had treated this day like something to dread and fear, the day they felt would change everything, I saw it as nothing different.

As school started around eight, I had some freetime. I looked across the shared room to my abuela's bed, and saw she was still sleeping. Deciding that her body needed as much energy as her mind would allow her, I snuck to the door and entered the rest of the house.

I walk into the restroom to change.I keep my clothing drawers in there so I don't wake abuela when I get ready in the morning. I chose some jeans that I dyed black and a simple white t-shirt. After putting on my shoes ; they're black boots with a bit of a heel to them, because I like feeling taller than I am. They're a little big, but hey, i got them for a dollar at the thrift store, who am i to complain?. I grab my f/c* hoodie from the hook on the wall, and go get my things ready for the day.
