Not Normal

I rolled around in my bed, not being able to get any sleep. I check my clock, 2:00am. Great, now I definitely won't have any energy tomorrow, or... today I guess. I just can't stop thinking about Eleven and Lucas. They're both great and now that I've concluded I have a crush on both of them, I don't know what to do. I mean, can you even have a crush on two people at once? Is this normal? Liking a girl isn't normal, for sure, so I've got that at least. One point for being weird goes to me. It's not like I can talk to anyone about this, unless, I know Will has a crush on Mike, he talks about him all the time and he told some of us anyways. Maybe he can help me out in the Eleven department at least. I could ask him about liking both of them too, but I don't think I'll get a good answer for that. At least I have a plan now. Hopefully I can get at least a few hours of sleep now.

I wake up at 10 in the morning, seems like I got my wish. 8 hours is definitely enough for me. I'm very lucky it's a Saturday, too. No getting up early for school. Time to put my plan in action. I get dressed quickly, throwing on a black and white skateboarding shirt and some jean shorts. I get ready as fast as I can, hoping to be able to sneak out of the house. I don't need any confrontation besides the one I'm initiating today.
Luckily, I make it out. But not before seeing my "brother" through the window. I run and hide behind a tree, hoping he didn't spot me. Damn it, he's the worst sometimes. I decide to not waste anytime, and head over to the Byers house.
As I'm walking, I spot some of my friends hanging outside the Wheeler house. I can't tell everyone who's there, but I get a clear view of El and Lucas, along with Mike and Erica. Oh shit, I totally forgot that Mike is Els ex. That just adds another problem to my ever increasing one. They seem like they can hang out well together though. I catch a quick laugh seeing Erica teasing Lucas before I continue on my journey.
Now arriving at the Byers house, I struggle to walk up to the door for a reason I don't know. I mean, how am I even going to ask about this? Will they think it's weird I want to talk to Will alone? As I'm contemplating what to say, I see Joyce pull up to the driveway. Not knowing what to do, I just stand there akwardly and watch her get out. She sees me and waves me over.
"Oh hi Max!" she says, smiling, "What are you doing here?"
I walk towards her and respond with a smile, "Um, I was just wondering if Will was home."
"Why, what do you need him for?" she asks, opening the trunk of her car to grab groceries.
"I'm hanging out with some of our friends and I thought he might like to join us," I lie.
"He's out with Jonathan right now, I think they're seeing a movie. Should I tell him you were here?"
"No!" I spurt out, "I mean, you don't have to. We can hang another time."
"Okay," she says, a little surprised, "Well it was nice to see you, Max. Have a good day."
"You too, Mrs. Byers." We wave and I walk away, not knowing where I'm going.
I decide to walk back home and just try again another day, maybe this feeling will even go away. But before I make it back, I run into the two people I'd least expect.

El and Lucas.
