Dragging his way through the corridor, Mera Yokumiru made his way to his apartment after a long day of work as a supervisor for the provisional hero license exam. Papers spilled from his overflowing bag as he struggled to find his key. Before he could create a bigger mess, the door opened for him.

"I could hear your sighs all the way from in here honey. Let me help you with that," you said as you bent down to collect his paperwork.

"Thanks, dear. Works really starting to take its toll on me," your husband responded as he grabbed the papers from you and made his way inside of your shared home.

"I'll say. You're over an hour late getting home and your eyebags are getting darker by the day!"

Yokumiru stopped in his tracks before checking his watch. "Oh man, it really is late. I still have at least another hour's worth of paper to finish too," he grumbled before setting his work on the table.

"No sir, you know how I feel about work at the dinner table. Besides, dinners went cold. Heat it up and eat before you even think of working again," you scolded him as you directed his attention to the kitchen.

"But I don't have time to eat-"

"And I don't have enough time in the day to spend with my husband! Yokumiru, works killing you. You barely eat or sleep and I rarely get to spend time with you anymore," you cried out. You have been holding it in for a long time, but it's hard to be a supportive spouse when your partner is never home. When you were younger, it seemed like the two of you spent every waking hour with each other, but now that his job is understaffed and more work came in his direction, you rarely had any free time together.

Startled by your outburst, Yokumiru's sleep-deprived eyes widened. He knew that work was taking a toll on his health, but didn't realize it was also affecting his relationship.

Sighing, he made his way towards your figure and wrapped you in a hug.

"I've been a really shitty husband recently, haven't I (Y/N)," he whispered in your hair as his hands rubbed your back.

Grasping at his suit, you let out all the frustration that you had been bottling in. "I'm sorry Yokumiru, I shouldn't have lashed out. It's just been so frustrating seeing how much you work and how it's taken such a toll on you. You deserve a break."

At your comment, he froze in place as an idea came to his mind.

"You're absolutely right. I do deserve a break. We both do. Say, where should we go? How about Ishigaki Island?"

"Huh, what are you talking about Yokumiru? I thought your job was understaffed. They'd never let you go on a vacation right now," you responded in confusion. Sure, you would love to spend some quality time with your husband but you knew how important his role was.

"If they wanna keep me as a supervisor then they're going to give me the time off. And besides, today was the last day of the hero licensing exam for the season. I have plenty of time until the next one. Plenty of time I plan to spend with you," he responded before leaning forward and placing a gentle kiss on your lips.

"Go get you some dinner hun, then maybe we can spend the first night of your break cuddling on the couch. Deal?"

"Deal."
