Chapter Nine:City Life

Monday morning. At this point most people will be getting up groaning about the week of work and school head, but me and Cory, not so much. Its the day of our date. Ditching school and going the city. From where i live it would take nearly half the day to get there by car, but we're running, now we are about seven times faster than any car, eve a racecar. Thats the only thing i know we are doing. Going to the city, but i don't know where or what we are doing.

It was around 8:30 am when Cory came through my window, of course i was asleep. "Hey wake up sleepy" he said shaking my head. "We need to get before everyone else" he said pulling my sheets off me. I curl up into a cold ball and shoo him away. I wear my usual black tights, black converse and a floral long sleeve mid-riff. I grabbed a backpack and left a note on my bed exiting through the window. We slid down the roof and ran through the forest, down the roads, over bridges, past shops and we make it to the top of a building, at the bottom is a train track, it seemed Coy was waiting for a train,because we jumped. We landed on a train moving quickly to the city. "At least we don't have to run the whole way" i laugh as i lay down with Cory watching the power lines over our heads. He stood up on the roof putting his arms out to catch the wind. "Are you crazy" i say as he looks back at me. "Cmon you scared" he teased me.I did a fake smile and stood up,balancing as i stood. He grabs my hips and rocks me near the edge. "Ah" i scream. "Are you serious, you could of dropped me" i scream and slap his arm. "But didn't" he laughs, i started to giggle.

I turned to the direction the train was going, there was a low tunnel ahead that would barely scrap the top of the train. "Shit" i say quickly jumping onto the train to lay on my stomach, i pull Cory down with me, we barely miss the tunnel. as we hit light we sit up and laugh making my gut hurt.

As we approach the end train station we jump on the bridge above it. A walking bridge. As we jump over onto the bridge people stop and stare at us. We just wipe ourslves off of dust and keep walking. We looked at the people still staring at us over our shoulder trying to keep a straight face, we ran away and laughed again.

We did a lot of walking and took a lot of turns until we reach Sydney Centre Point Tower (the big tower you can look over the city from). I looked up it. "Aw, iv never been up there. I heard when we are going up in the elevator our ears will pop" i say intrigued. "Who said where using an elevator?" he said putting an evil grin on his face. We got to a section where no one will be able to see us much. He moved a few meters away and ran to the towers base jumping up meters. "See if you can do better than that" he said laughing. I smile evily knowing he's about to get the shock of his life. He laughs and looks back down. I'm not there. he gets worried and looks back up the tower. I'm meters above him. I laughed and stared my climb.

We reach the top and quickly slide through the door when the people going to jump off came out. We walked into the room, it was a round circle room going around the elevator, the walls and some of the ground was glass. Cory looks down, whilst standing on the glass. He looked dizzy, scared and worried. "Scared of heights?" i said giggling. "No just this could break and i could go falling and, splat, this is to high, even for a wolf" he said jumping off the glass. I look over the city, its huge, you can see the harbour bridge, harbour bay and i can even see further than that. "Wow" is all i can say as i walk around the whole thing.

I was standing looking out at the view when Cory turned up behind me, he put his arms around me from the back and held my wrist out, my bracelet i got when i was a baby was on, it had charms from all of the place with each having at least one meaning. He undid it and put a tower with heart around it, it had an engraving on the back saying, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. I felt my face going red, I smiled at him, wrapping my arms around his neck

I followed Cry down to the docks. A jet boat sat waiting for us with my name on it: Aprils Opal, i looked down at my necklace. I smiled widely and jumped in the boat. When it started it kinda startled me a bit. After about 10 minuets of zooming around the harbour we where approaching the bridge. I saw a bunch of people up on the walking path across the bridge, they where holding something. They watched us and smiled. We got closer and they dropped what they where holding. A big white banner with colourful shapes, headphone, and letters read: April Silverwater Will You Be My Girlfriend? ~ Cory . I started to cry.I turned to him, " So, will you?" he said. I nodded dramatically and hugged him crying of joy in his shoulder. He put his thumb up to the people and they all started cheering. 

I got off him and he handed me a box. It was a rectangular box. It was big. I opened it to reveal a beautiful little mirrored box, when i opened it there was a picture of me and Cory engraved on it.It played a song, the song that played when we kissed the first time for outside club Electro. She Wolf by David Guetta. I pulled more things out. A teddy bear saying I love you on a heart, a Necklace which was into shape of a heart that opened up with a picture of My wolf(tamed), and his, and a picture frame with a collage of me and Cory. I just didn't think anyone would ever do anything like this for me, but i was wrong. He was my mate, and he will always be until death.

We arrived home and i sneak into the house. Its 6pm and everyone was eating dinner. I put everything on my bed and go down stairs. Everyone stares at me. I looked at them and said "wha, i told you i was going out for the day with Cory" everyone looks back, but my mum gets up and drags me into the bathroom,turning on the tap. "So" she says

"So what?" i reply

"What happened, spill the gos" she said sitting down onto the toilet (lid closed).

"Well he's my mate and he asked me to be his girlfriend" i said picking at my dirty nails. My mums face lit up and a huge grin spread across it, she starred at me jumping up and down at me happy as she would ever be.

I was so nervous about today, what if April would of said no, she would of jumped off the boat, or would she. But luckily i found my mate. I opened my door to the apartment. My mum is lying on the living room floor covered i blood seizing. I ran over to her. "Mum, mum what happened, mum?" i scream. No response. I run to try and find the first aid kit. I walk into the walk in cupboard. Nothings there, i see note. Its from my stepdad.

it says:

Hey boy, goodluk trying to liv, i left so dont come looking for me or ill finish of what i startde once and for all. all the monie has been drained and you have nothing left sto sell, haha see you in hell.

(His dads bad spelling not mine)

I hear silence, my mum stopped coughing. I ran over and felt her pulse. She was barely breathing but in a lot of pain. I held her hand and my vains turned black. I was taking the pain out of her, a trick wolves could do to humans. I picked her up and ran to the hospital.

I ran with all my speed, going faster than i had ever gone. My mums eyes flutter opened, she looked at me, she saw me running with inhuman speed, but i didn't care i had to get her to the hospital before its to late. I kick open the doors and scream "SOMEONE HELP".
