Anything you can do, I can do better ☂

Five and Eight Hargreeves were competitors growing up and frequently faced off against one another. They wanted to prove their superiority to others as much as to themselves.

Five, his ability to blink through time and space, changing locations at the speed of light,

Eight, the speedster, who can run faster than light itself, is constantly just a millisecond away from him.

Even though neither of them had yet attained their full ability, Five made a terrible suggestion when he was just 13 years old: time travel.

They agreed to try it because it was just another competition they had grown accustomed doing as young children.

They always sought to demonstrate that one of them was superior to the other, no matter what it took.

The two kids' seemingly innocent competition, however, could not have turned out worse when Five jumped into the future too far, followed by Eight who sprinted quickly enough to open a portal, keeping up with him.

They both wound up trapped in the post-apocalyptic world, making them the only two survivors.

Both of them attempted to undo what they had done, but they lacked the necessary abilities.

As a result, they were the only people in a world that contained crumbling walls, fire, smoke, scorched clothing, and little to no food.

But let's rewind the time to that same day they left.

"Would you like to try time travel today?" Five frowned down at the shorter girl though having a razor-sharp jawline and furrowed eyebrows.

The girl nodded her head yes and walked past him in the corridor, leaving the boy standing there just before moving back to her own room.

They have been planning this approach for some time, and they both believed they were now prepared for it.

Tugging down her button-up shirt, she was hurriedly preparing for the feast, waiting for the bell to ring, announcing to the children that it was finally ready.

When she finally heard the bell ring, she exited her room and closed the door behind her as instructed. She then ran down the stairs with her siblings and went to the dinner table, taking her assigned seat after stepping behind her chair.

Five, who typically sat directly across from her, was grinning broadly and sending her obvious signs that they would be discussing the matter with their Father during dinner.

They were both aware that conversing during meals was officially prohibited, but they couldn't care less about the ridiculous restrictions because they were both fixated on time travel.

Sir Reginald Hargreeves finally entered the room and ordered everyone to sit down and eat. Thus, they did.

Firstly, everyone was busy with their own activities; some were reading books, laughing beneath the table, carving into chairs, or even smoking joints, but Five and Eight only exchanged silent glances as they debated who should speak first.
