SPECIAL CHAPTER 3: After Ten Years...

“What did your teacher say about the three mischief you did last week?!” I immediately confronted my triplets as they arrived in the living room. I hadn’t even gotten a chance to get a kiss on the cheek before I started shouting. “If your teacher hadn’t called me, I wouldn’t have found out!” I added, standing with my hands on my hips.

They looked at each other in shock, then lowered their heads like puppies being scolded by their owner.

If their advisor hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have known about their mischiefs last week. Their teacher only mentioned it because they had used their charm and cuteness again, but this week, they did it once more.

I turned to the eldest of the triplets, who was still looking down and biting his lower lip, older by twenty-two minutes than the other two. "Theophilius, didn’t I tell you not to sleep during class?!" He nodded repeatedly. "Then why did you sleep last week and not even write in your notebook what you were supposed to? And now you did it again this week, and worse, you got a zero on your quiz!" He didn’t answer me and just pinched his middle finger due to anxiety.

Theophilius Lee Vanidestine, the eldest of the triplets. He inherited his father’s blue eyes, has a prominent nose, and rosy lips like his dad. His thick eyebrows are natural, and it seems he didn’t inherit anything from me because he got his father's face. I bet that when he grows up, many girls will chase after him. He’s mischievous, playful, and despite being ten years old, he’s in sixth grade because he’s smart, though he sometimes gets lazy about studying. He’s kind, despite his many mischiefs, and sweet, especially when he needs something to buy or to cook.

I turned to the youngest of the triplets, who immediately avoided my gaze when he saw my expression. "Theodorus, why did you hit your classmate last week and not even tell me that your teacher was calling for me because of it?!" The youngest’s actions were even worse than Theophilius’s. "And this week, you got into a fistfight with eighth graders?!" I almost shouted, not knowing what to do with him since he was worse.

They study on campus, so it’s expected that they’ll encounter students from other grades. They have different buildings, but of course, it’s unavoidable to meet students from other grade levels.

Theodorus Lycus Vanidestine, the youngest of the triplets. He’s more mischievous and sometimes serious, especially when it comes to his studies. Like Theophilius, he inherited his father’s looks and didn’t get a single thing from me! He’s also mischievous, smart, but with many antics, kind, playful, and always getting into fights with someone every week or month. He always has a smile and is incredibly sweet. Of course, like his brother, he’s also in sixth grade, and since they’re inseparable, they share the same classroom.

"Mommy, last week he crushed my crush, so I punched him. Then this week, I was challenged to a fight, so I ended up fighting." He explained to me politely, still looking down.

Unlike Theophilius, he answers me respectfully. I mean, they’re all polite, but he’s the only one with a ready excuse whenever he gets caught doing something wrong.
