So, this has been an long time since I've updated this story.
So I guess I'll talk about milestones for now.
——————————So, milestones.
I already reached one of them, tho it's not that important of a milestone.
Almost getting to 400 reads is a really big milestone for me. But for some other people. It's a mere stepping stone for them to walk over.
You can't always be like " other people " all the time, you have to be creative you know?
Also, back on the topic of milestones.
These are the main types of them:
—————
100
500
1,000
1,500
2,000
5,000
10,000
15,000
20,000
50,000
100,000
500,000
1,000,000
—————I haven't gone too in-depth like going into the billions only because I want to make it at least " reachable ".
50,000 of views, subscribers, followers, of whatever is already going to get you recognized to lots of amounts of people.
And that's mainly when you start picking up more and more traction in subscribers, views, whatever, gained.
You start to see an increase in the numbers more.
Basically what I'm saying is.
The more of, whatever, your going to get is going to keep rising because the more people who watch or read your stuff, the more people who are going to recognize it.
But I think that there is several ways that your content can't get the traction that you want it to get.
1. Reposting Content off of other creators.
First, your stealing something from someone who clearly took the time and effort into making it.
Second, you don't change it so it's an obvious steal.
And third, even if it is different, half of the time the person who reposted it, didn't even give the main creator credit.
If you dodged all of that though and your just making a short clip of that. Then that's fine.
But still, give the original creator some credit.
2. Fake News/Lying.
If it's something the general fanbase has already seen. Then it's not going to get as much traction as the first video or story.
Or even if you blatantly lie about something.
And for some reason. Some people still believe in the lies.
Or maybe it's some old news that everyone has already seen.
3. Bad Voice Acting.
If you have a video about a comic that you voice acted in it.
Please don't let the mic be a 2$ microphone that you found in the back of a Dollar General.
At least have a good quality microphone. Because nobody wants to hear you breath every single time your going to read the next line.
And at least have a good sence in your vocabulary. Because I don't want to hear someone miss- pronounce the word because on accident.
And for some reason they still keep it in.
4. Horrible Miss-spelling of words.
I do fall culprit to this but only sometimes.
If your whole entire script or writing has horrible spelling then I don't think anyone will want to read it.
Honestly, at least get someone except for you to read over your work sometimes.
5. Outright Boring Storyline
If not saying that your story has to be highly energetic.
Just don't make it to the point of you characters doing a boring scavenger hunt every chapter.
At least have something different that can set the tone for a story.
6. Horrible character introduction.
If you don't know if your character introductions are good, than wait for someone to point it out.
Or you can just figure that out yourself.
I mean, it's your story, you don't have to make everyone do your dirty work.
Well, that's some of the basic ones.
There's probably more but I don't have enough brain cells to think of them.
Now I'm going to talk about how your content CAN get the traction you want it to get.
Basically just the opposite of what I just listed.
1. Making good, original content
Not really stealing from others hard work but also making it fun to read.
You kinda want people to be on the edge of their seat when something suspenseful happens.
2. New news/Not Lying
Maybe your just a news director on Wattpad or someone who wants people to have a heads up on what their writing about.
Or maybe what's new from a popular story creator.
3. Good voice acting
Good microphone quality is what your going to mainly need for good voice acting.
Also, keeping the good lines are also a main priority, but their optional if you mess up and it sounds better than the original.
4. Decent Script
A lot of the words in your script should be correctly spelled.
Even the ones that aren't are probably mistakes that you glossed over because you didn't notice it.
Either way, make it you priority to make a good and easy-to-read script.
5. Good and interesting storyline
Like the last part, your story should be easy-to-read and digestible so your readers don't have any problems understanding something in the story.
6. Decent character introduction
I don't really have some tips for making good character intro's.
Since I basically only made 1.
Or 3, if you count my removed stories.
Those 6 do's and don't's may or may not help you in the long run when it comes to popularity.
Have fun making your stories or videos.
And make sure you don't care about your milestones too much.
Cya!
