*Narrator POV*

*Note: Past takes place a couple days after Tanjiro's trial and future takes place 13 months after the final battle*

Giyuu Tomioka, the Water Hashira was jogging on a road towards his mission with his usual emotionless face. His thoughts weren't all there since he was still thinking over yesterday's meeting where he pledged he would kill himself if the demon he vouched for killed anyone. He wasn't worried about the dying part he truly didn't mind that but what did worry him was that he dragged his master into his mess. He looked up to the midnight sky and sighed as he never meant for this to happen.

A chill ran up his spine making him stop dead in his tracks as he felt a vile presence behind him. He put his hand on his katana as he turned around coming face to face with something that just promised death. A fairly tall demon with long black hair with red highlights, his kimono a dark purple with black patterns, what Giyuu noticed immediately was his six red and yellowish eyes with two reading 'Upper 1'.

Tomioka gulped in fear as he raised his sword still with the same neutral expression but with beads of sweat falling down his face. Kokoshibo just stared at Tomioka as he gave him a one over expecting both his aura and physique. He hummed in satisfaction as he began his questioning.

Kokoshibo: So you are the one that was able to hold Douma off until sunrise. You know he's still very angry about that.

Tomioka: ......

Kokoshibo: My master has taken an interest in you because of that. Also because you know the whereabouts of the boy with hamafuda earrings and of the traitor. Tell me where they are and I will spare your life. You could even become a upper make your way to the top become something powerful. This is an opportunity given to you by Upper 1 Kokoshibo become a demon and serve my master or die here alone.

Tomioka didn't say anything as he drew his blade with a quick glance in the sky where he saw his crow fly off to get help. He also saw he had maybe three hours at most to get to sunrise, Kokoshibo took a deep breathe which Tomioka recognized as Concentration Breathing.

Kokoshibo: I see. At least make this interesting for me it's been awhile since I've killed a Water Hashira.

Tomioka charged at Kokoshibo with the demon just staring at him with a blank look.

*Elsewhere*

Shinobu was looking at charts in her room with an annoyed look since those three are just a handful. The blonde one won't shut up, the red haired one just put her Tomioka in danger and the boar hasn't done anything yet but she just has a feeling he will be a walking disaster soon. As she was writing down the final treatments on their charts. She looked up as she heard cawing coming from the distance.

Shinobu: A mission so soon?

Crow: *Caw**Caw* Water Hashira ambushed by Upper 1! Requesting immediate backup! To the northeast district of Kyoto! Near Coral Town!*Caw**Caw*

The charts fell to the ground as Shinobu ran out of the mansion at break neck speeds with panic on her face and fear evident in her eyes. Tengen was eating dinner with his wifes as he heard the call and immediately left with a serious expression. Rengoku was returning home when he heard the crow and immediately turned around heading towards Tomioka. Sanemi was training when the crow came and he just scoffed but reluctantly left towards the location. Muichiro didn't hear the call as he was asleep in his estate. Gyomei was standing guard at the Master's residence when the crow passed over and he disappeared in a blur towards the location. Mitsuri and Iguro were just leaving a restaurant when the crow passed over with Iguro just saying to ignore it. Saying Tomioka would be fine however he didn't notice that Mitsuri had already left running straight to the fight making Iguro shocked.
