James was standing in between the living room and the kitchen, tossing the pokeball up and down in his hand, taunting you and smirking. His smug look made you eager to fight.

"If you want your Marill back-..."

He spoke quietly, and slightly mysteriously. You looked at him, waiting as he glared at you.

"Too bad!"
He said, gripping the pokeball and slyly smiling.

You were obviously pissed, and you knew damn well you wouldn't let anybody steal your adorable precious pokemon. Not if you could help it.

"Totodile, use water gun,"
You commanded nonchalantly. The perfect revenge.

"Totodile!"
Totodile cried before using water gun, drenching James's entire outfit. He was now standing in a puddle.

You started snickering but just progressed until you were full-on howling with laughter. James looked defeated, but then lit up and smiled excitedly.

"Oh, you're just asking for it now! I'll show you your place!"

He sprinted into his room and retrieved a great ball, and you figured he must've hid Marill somewhere in his room in the process. You would find her later.

"We'll settle this outside."

He commanded as you nodded and followed him to the front of the house. You knew you could easily just run away from your kidnappers, but you weren't running away without your items, and more importantly, your pokemon.

Outside of Jessie's house, there was a grassy clearing. You and James stood a distance away, and Totodile hopped in front of you.

"Totodile, get ready."

You looked at him, smiling reassuringly.

"Totodile!"
He cried, his smile fierce and standing in a ready stance. You hoped he wouldn't get too hurt in battle.

James smiled, obviously full of himself.

"Houndoom, go."

He sent out a Houndoom, as it howled, sending Totodile to become visibly upset. James was also affected by its eerie howl, but he was trying to hide it.

You, however, could not hide your fear, and your voice was a bit shaky. You heard what a Houndoom could do to trainers, let alone other pokemon! You prayed Totodile wouldn't get injured.

The Houndoom dug its paws into the ground as it growled, its claws cutting the grass beneath it, giving you chills, even though you could feel its body heat, even when you were feet away.

"Hmph. You'll need your beginners luck for this one."

James glared, smiling at you egotistically.

"U-uh..."

You glanced around nervously, hoping for some great idea to form.

"Totodile, use bite!"

You remembered the new attack Totodile had learned recently, and tried to sound confident.

Totodile ran up to Houndoom, jumped up and bit down harshly on its upper leg as Houndoom loudly yelped in pain. It glared at you, making you freeze in place as you tried to look away, but Houndooms gaze was locked onto you.

"Houndoom, use inferno!"
James commanded without a second thought.

You jumped back as the Houndoom began lighting everything around you on fire with relative ease. The grassy clearing was being reduced to ash and smoke.

"James! Doesn't this seem a little much?!"

You shrieked, trying to stay away from the growing fire in Jessie's front yard.

"Heh. Alright Houndoom, that's enough for today. I'm afraid this trainer just can't handle our marvelous moves."

James said as he began to retrieve Houndooms pokeball, but quickly stopped as he realized the fire was dangerously close to Jessie's house.

"Totodile, use water gun!"
You both accidentally shouted in unison, causing you both lock eyes awkwardly for a second.

Totodile hastily put out the fire and ran by your side, smiling as always, as if he didn't just prevent a house fire.

"Hmph."

You crossed your arms, as you clearly lost this battle.

"What, want a rematch?"

James smirked, picking up on your visible fear for Houndoom.

You both heard a vehicle driving closer to the house. You realized that it was probably Jessie and Meowth coming back, since they left a while ago.

"Jessie can't see this!!"
He panicked as he scooped up Totodile and grabbed your wrist as he yanked you inside.

James then proceeded to push you up the stairs and into your room. You tried to fight back, and to be honest, James wasn't that strong, but he was determined to get you in your room, obviously with the fear of being shouted at by Jessie again.

"James! Let go of me you-...you-"

"Now is not the time!"
He interrupted, pushing you by the shoulders and causing you to fall to the floor of your room.

Totodile in hand, he slammed the door shut.

"James! You give me back my pokemon this instant!"
You angrily growled as you pounded on the door after figuring out James was holding it shut.

"Stop pounding on the door! I bet Jessie paid good money for this door!"

You heard the front door creak open as you continued to shout.

"JAMES YOU BETTER-"
