"Regular potion, regular potion, super potion, another regular potion..."

When you woke up, you were in a strange bed, in a room that definitely wasn't yours.

You looked down and saw James on the floor going through your stuff!

"Regular potion, regular potion-Ooh, a revive! I'll take that-"
He pocketed the revive.

"Regular potion, regular potion, friend ball-empty-..., regular potion, burn heal, regular potion-"

"Hey! You, James! Where in the name of Johto am I?"
You shouted.

"Hmm? Oh. You're awake."

"Answer my question!"

James flinched from your shouting, although he looked used to it.

"You're at a new secret hide-out in the middle of no-where. Satisfied?"

"No."

"Great. Now, Where'd you put that Totodile?"
James smiled.

"My Totodile is none of your business."

You stared at the ceiling, tired.

"Totodile!"

You heard the pokemon cry from the floor.

"HEY!"

"Looks like I found you!"
James smiled, putting the empty pokeball down and picking up Totodile.

"Totodile?"
Totodile glanced at James curiously.

"Totodile, here boy!"

You patted the bed as Totodile jumped straight out of James arms and into yours.

"Ooh, so close!"
You mocked.

"Now, tell me, where are we? And for real, this time,"
you commanded him, petting Totodile.

James sighed,
"You're in the guest room of Jessie's house, twerp."

"Oh, why so sad? You want this Totodile?"
You shook Totodile back and forth in front of James, teasing him while smiling.

"Why so blue? You almost look as blue as that weird hair of yours, James."
You snickered.

"It's lavender, actually,"
he corrected you confidently, pointing his finger in the air, which made you frown and return to a bad mood.

"Whatever."

...

You heard him rustling through your bag again.

"Totodile, return."
The pokeball in James's hand lit up as he commanded.

"Totodile, don't do that."
The ball faded.

You sighed in relief, hugging Totodile.

"What do you want with my Totodile anyway?"
You asked James.

He looked around as if making sure no one was listening, then he spoke.

"Well, Jessie wants it because she claims its the last one. I just want it because its cute,"
he said in all seriousness.

You began to laugh.

"Yeah, laugh now, but you won't be laughing once he evolves to Croconaw. It's a quite unsightly difference."

You stopped laughing.

"Don't tell Jess I gave this to you,"
he whispered.

You looked at him suspiciously as he held out his hand.

"It's an Everstone. It prevents a pokemon from evolving."

You took it from him and gave it to Totodile. Totodile grasped it in his hand as it sparkled and disappeared.

"Thanks?"

"Also, you know our names, it's only fair if we know yours."

He smiled.

"...Its Y/N..."
You said hesitantly.

You heard a voice echoing from far outside the room.

"James! Get down here this instant!"
Jessie screamed in anger.

"Uh-...Gotta go!"
James nervously smiled as he ran out of the room and slammed the door behind him on accident. You could hear him run down the stairs.

You listened in on the muffled arguing downstairs.

"James! Why is there a Teddiursa in the kitchen?!"

"Teddiursa!"
You heard a baby-ish pokemon cry.

"Jessie, it must've escaped from my bag! I left it closed by the door, I promise!"

"Ugh, JAMES! Just get it out of here! Just take one of the guest rooms and put all of your filthy pokemon there!"

"Jessie, just look at it, how could you ever get mad at poor Teddiursa?"

"Teddiursa?"
The pokemon asked curiously.

"Oh, you sure are a chatty one, aren't you?"
James baby-talked the pokemon.

You laughed to yourself.

"NOW! I don't want to see that Teddiursa in my kitchen AGAIN! You hear me?!"

"Yes Jess..."
You heard James mope.
