Reconnecting with an old friend

Before I knew it it was Monday morning. The weekend went by fast begin that I didn't get out of bed after what happened.

I woke up at 6 and hesitantly got out of bed. I felt a knot in my stomach as I was getting ready. I was scared of seeing Billy today.

A little while after I was finished getting ready I heard a knock on the front door. I knew it was Steve here to take me to school.

I can tell he was worried about me. He kept glancing over at me. "Steve" I said breaking the silence. " I'm okay. You don't need to worry about me." I said obviously lying. I felt so weak in this moment.

We pulled up to school. I took a deep breath before speaking. "Thank you for the ride" I said with a smile. I went to go open the door but Steve stopped me quickly. "Y/n Ik your gonna have Nancy Robin and the kids here for you but if Billy even comes close to you I want you to call me. Okay?" He said in a serious tone. I stared at him for a second feeling my throat get tight. "Thank you Steve" and with that I got out and walked into the building.

As I was walking through the halls I could feel the stares and hear the whispers. I just wanted to go home.

I get to my first class and feel asleep. I just couldn't do it today.

Skip to lunch

So far I had managed to steer clear of Billy. Thank god.

I walk over to where Nancy and Robin were sitting and took a seat. The look at each other and then look at me. "Hey y/n. How are you?" Nancy said with concern in her voice. "I'm fine" I replied forcing out a smile. They weren't quite sure how to talk to me now so I just stayed silent.

It was weird sitting in silence so I got up and went into the hallway. I bent down at a water fountain taking a drink when I suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around me and lift me.

"What the fuck!" I yelled as I was getting put down. "Miss me babe" it was Billy. "God Billy leave me alone." I go to walk away but he grabs my arm keeping me there. "Where are you going babe" he said. "Billy leave me alone." I say feeling tears start to form in my eyes. "Come on y/n don't be a bitch now." Before I could say anything a voice spoke up. "She said leave her alone man" it was Eddie again. "Stay out of it freak.". "Why don't you pick on someone who actually has a fighting chance" Eddie said stepping up to Billy. Billy let go of my arm turning towards Eddie. "Billy just go" I said he scoffed and walked away.

"Hey are you okay" Eddie rushed over to me. "Yes I'm fine thank you" I gave him a soft smile. "I'm sorry y/n. He's a dick." He knew my name. I honestly had no idea he knew my name. I slightly blushed when he said it. Before He was going to walk away I spoke. "Hey Eddie? You sell weed right?" He gave me a smile and said "Meet me in the woods" I nodded and walked off. This was the first time I've talked Eddie in a while. He was actually quite cute. With his crazy hair, he dark brown eyes. He gave me a sense of comfort. Something I haven't felt in a while.

End of the day

The last school bell went off. I walked to my locker grabbing a few things before I went to meet Eddie. "Hey y/n. Steve's outside let's go." Robin said walking up to me. "You guys can go ahead I have something I need to do." I said without realizing I was smiling. "Okay y/n be careful" she hugged me and walked off.

I made my way towards the woods. I found a bench a little ways away and sat there waiting. I started thinking about how things used to be with me and Billy and it started me make me cry.

I heard a twig snap and turned around practically having a heart attack. It was just Eddie. "Damn it Eddie don't sneak up on me like that" I say as I wipe away my tears. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you. Are you okay?" He said as he sat down across from me. He had a black lunch box and started opening it. "How much?" I ask. "I can do a half ounce for 20? It should last you a while." Before I could reply I heard something in the background. I gasp and quickly turn. "Hey we don't got to do this if you don't want to. I can just go" he said shutting the box. "No no stay. It's just everything with Billy. It's making me lose my mind." I replied. He gave me a concerned look. "We'll if it makes you feel better I feel like I'm loosing my mind right now. I mean I'm doing a drug deal with Y/n L/n. The queen of Hawkins high." I let out a slight chuckle. "Just because I was dating Billy doesn't make me the queen of this dump." I say looking in his dark brown eyes.

"Do you remember when we used to be close. Well some what close." He said looking down at the table. "Of course I do. In middle school." I smiled at him. Suddenly he feel back. He quickly got up. "Yep back in middle. You know it kinda hurt when you stopped talking to me." He said. "Yeah I'm sorry about that it's just that was when my mom died. I kinda isolated myself from the whole planet." I said looking down at the table. It was silent for a minute before I started talking again. "You've changed Munson" i said looking at him with a smile. "Yeah back then my hair was shorter and I didn't have these sweet old tatties" he slightly pulled his shirt down revealing on of his tattoos. I couldn't help but stare. I noticed he had a smile on his face as he was coming to sit back down. "I'm in a band now" he said as he sat. "Wow really? That's super cool" I said. "Yep corroded coffin. We play at the hideout on Tuesdays. You should come and see us sometime." He said with a smile. "I might just take you up on that offer." I said. "Well in other good new flattery works on me so 25% discount. 15 bucks your robbing me blind" he said pulling the half ounce out of the box and putting it on the table.

I grab my wallet out of my bag and hand him a 20. "I'm do you think you can roll some joints for me too? You can keep the extra 5 for it" I asked. "Yeah no problem. We're gonna have to go to my place though. I don't have any papers on me" he replied. "That's fine" I said standing up.

We walked to his van and he opened the door for me. "Thank you" I said slightly blushing. He ran over to his side hopped in and took off.

I haven't even been talking to Eddie for a full day yet and now I'm going to his house. I wasn't mad about it though.
