Mixed signals

Me and Eddie have been hanging out a lot these past few weeks. He would flirt with me and I would flirt back. People would stare and talk but we didn't care. Eddie had made me the happiest I had been in a while. Everything was going great. Until he started giving me mixed signals.

We would still hang out like normal. He would flirt and then he wouldn't. I would flirt and it seemed like thing would get awkward.

It was a Friday morning and i started getting ready for school. Once i were finished getting ready i walked downstairs to find Steve wait for me.

"Are you ready" he asked me as he grabbed his keys. "Yep let's go"

When we got in the car Steve started telling me about his date last night but honestly I had other thing on my mind.

"Steve your a guy right?" I asked looking down at my hands. "Wow" he said a little offended. "I mean you know how a guy thinks" I continued. "Well yeah." He answered. "What does it mean when a guy starts giving a girl mixed signals. I mean it's like one minute he wants to be with me and the next minute he doesn't." I say now playing with my rings. "Well uh it could mean a bunch of things. It could mean he's scared. Or he's tired of you. Or he's nervous."

I look up to see we were at school. "Thanks Steve" I say as I go to open the door. "Hey y/n. Let me know if I need to kick his ass ok." I smiled at him and got out the car.

Skip to lunch

Me and Eddie made small talk throughout the day but nothing serious. When i got to the lunch room I noticed he wasn't in there.

I went over to talk to Dustin and Mike. "Hey have you guys seen Eddie?" I noticed the rest of the hellfire club look at each other. "Uh no why" Mike said to me. "It's nothing. I'll talk to you guys later."

I walk over to sit with Nancy and Robin. "Hey y/n are you going to that party today?" Nancy said to me as I sat down. "God yes" I replied back to her. "So how are things with you and Eddie?" Robin asked. "Uh to be honest i don't know. He keeps giving me mixed signals." I replied. "I'm sorry y/n" Nancy said to me. After a while of taking i still couldn't get Eddie off my mind. "Hey guys I just remember I have to talk to mr.Johnson about an assignment. I'll see you guys later."

I didn't really have to talk to mr.Johnson I just needed to try and clear my head.

I started to walk to the bleachers outside when I noticed Eddie messy brown hair. A smile grew on my face as I picked up my pace. As I got closer I noticed he was talking to someone. Chrissy Cunningham.

"You know I really enjoy taking to you Chrissy." He started to lean in closer to her. At this point I wanted to turn around but it's like I was frozen. We aren't even dating why do I care.

He'd kissed her. After that I turned around tears falling down my face.

God was I excited for that party now.

Time skip

Steve picked me and Robin up like usual. They talked while I stayed silent. My mind kept replaying that moment in my head.

Me and Steve got home from dropping Robin off. When we got inside he started to talk to me.

"Hey y/n are you okay." He asked me. "Eddie kissed Chrissy."I said with tears in my eyes. "I'm gonna kick his ass y/n. That son of a bitch." He pulled me into a hug as I cried into his shirt. "How could I have been so stupid. I thought he actually liked me." I say sobbing. "You know what. Let's stay home tonight. We can watch your favorite movies and order pizza." Steve said trying to comfort me. "No Steve I need to go to this party. Please" I say looking up at him. "Ok. Just make sure to eat something before we go." He knew I was planning on getting trashed tonight.
