Jasper, Alice and Edward had all gone to school and Carlisle along with Dylan had gone to their work. The house was less crowded and much more silent then it used to be, and even though it had been a few hours I missed them. The parking lot was empty of Eddies black Volvo, Jaspers Harley Davidson, Carlisles black Mercedes and Dylans Audi, and that also added to the silent feeling. But it was not the silence that made everything feel off, it was as if someone watched us. Where ever I stood in the house it almost was as if I could feel eyes on me, the hair in the back of my neck stood up and I felt my paranoia kick in. It was paranoia I always felt, even though it was buried deep inside of me it always managed to eat its way out from my shell. The only time that paranoia did not affect me was when I was in this house, and now it was the complete opposite.

It was only a few hours before the three of them would come home, and I took that time to make me a presentable meal. Well, if you could call it that.

Apple slices laid on a plate in front of me along with peanutbutter, on another plate was a cucumber and paprika, both chopped up. It was a strange food choice, but I was too lazy to do anything better. With a shrug I began to eat the vegetables first, they crunched but it was nothing more satisfying to them than that. I never was much for greens, they just tasted bad and looked disgusting. And the pate with paprika and cucumber proved my oppinion right. I did indeed hate vegetables and there was nothing I could do about it. I was always a meat type of person, I'm not saying that I do not respect vegans or vegetarians, I just like meat. Besides, I could never give up eating meat, it's just who I am.

The paranoia kicked in again, the hairs at the back of my neck rose and goosebumps dotted my skin. Two eyes were watching me from my side. I immediately turned my head towards where I knew the eyes to be and stared out through the window. Nothing, I saw absolutely nothing. But what did catch my interest was the slight odd shaking in one of the trees, it looked unatural. The wind could not have caused such thing but before I was sure of what I saw it was gone. I narrowed my eyes at the tree but was soon pulled out of my thoughts by Esme.

"Are you alright?"

It was only her and I in the house, Rosalie and Emmett had gone to another house not too far from our main one for alone time. And I would not be too surprised if they ruined that house too.

"Yeah, it's just quiet."

I gave her an excuse and waved the matter off because I did not want to be a burden. She narrowed her own eyes at me for a single second before her lips turned up in to a soft smile. Her head began to nod slowly and she agreed with what I said.

"You're right, it is very quiet."

She looked over my "meal" and gave me another narrowed glance.

"Really?"

I shrugged my shoulders and took another bite of the paprika before I placed my hand in front of my mouth as I chewed and answered.

"I'm lazy."

She let out a little laugh at my expression and words before she shook her head amusedly and began to walk out of the room and up the stairs.

"I'm in the attic if you need me!"

I anwered her with a hum and returned my gaze towards the window. There was something off about the forest, about this day. I could not put my finger on it, and that only scared the shit out of me. I hated being in the dark, being completely oblivious to what would happen. And that was what I was now, I had absolutely no idea what made me uncomfortable and on alert all the time.

The same feeling struck me, as if someone was staring at me from far away. I immediately turned my head to the other side and again saw nothing, this time the branches did not even shake in a mysterious way.
