"Do you want me to walk you there?" he offered.
"Are you going somewhere?" you replied, wondering if the university building was on the way to wherever he might've been going.
"No, I don't have any plans. I just feel like talking to you a bit more to make up for yesterday, if that's okay?"
"Of course that's okay! Are you ready to go now?"
"Yeah one sec.." He hops up to put on a big hoodie and his shoes. "Ready."
The two of you head out, only to notice as you get to the front of the building that it was raining pretty hard. You really should've checked the forecast but it completely slipped your mind since the weather had been so perfect recently. You were lost in thought staring at it. You really love rain - it makes everything smell nice and the sound of it hitting windows has always been calming to you.
"Wait right here, I'll be back in a second!" Wonwoo announces as he runs back up the stairs before giving you a chance to respond. You remembered you always keep an umbrella at the bottom of your bag in case of times like this but decided to keep that a secret - he was already gone anyway. Within a minute, he was back by your side with a big umbrella. "Here - you can use it, I'll just put my hood up."
"Don't be silly, let's share it. It's big enough for the both of us, right?" He nods and opens it as you go outside and holds it up between the two of you. You head out into the rain and you really enjoy the sound of the rain hitting the umbrella above your head.
You must've had a massive smile plastered on your face because Wonwoo asks: "What's got you so happy?"
"The rain is pretty and I have good company, what's there to be sad about?" you reply as you look over to him. He seems to look away quickly and face the other direction so you just giggle and go back to watching the rain. On the way, you occasionally bump shoulders from being so close together, and he ends up having to put his arm behind your back, making sure you stay safely under the umbrella. Eventually, you get to the shelter of your building and he continues to walk in with you, right up to the lecture hall. It didn't take you long to realise that his right shoulder was completely soaked. "Hey, you should be more careful, what if you get a cold?" you mumble as you wipe some of the water off.
"It's fine, I don't get sick easily." he said with a smile, "Plus, I wanted to make sure you didn't get wet so it was a small sacrifice."
"Actually, do you wanna join me in this lecture? The content is kinda interesting and the lecturer doesn't take much notice of which students are in so he won't even know you're not meant to be there. I don't like the idea of sending you back into the rain either." He decides to join you so the two of you aim straight for the back of the hall. When you sit down, you hand him a pen and a couple of sheets of paper so it at least looks like he's doing some work.
There's a guy in this class who always smiles at you and sits a row in front of you in this lesson - it's sweet but he's not really your type so you hope he won't try to flirt with you or anything. When he comes in this time, he seems to be walking straight towards you with his phone open until his eyes shift to Wonwoo. You see the two of them make eye contact and Wonwoo has a stern look on his face. It was only a matter of seconds until the guy did a full 180 and sat at the front of the hall for once. "What was that about?" you ask with a laugh.
He looks away for a second before saying, "I don't know, he seemed annoying and I didn't want him bothering you. You looked kinda awkward when you noticed he was coming over." How did he notice that? You didn't think it was that obvious but maybe you're worse at hiding your emotions than you thought.
"Ahh I see. You're just like my dad, how do you always know when something's wrong?"
"I can just see it on your face.." he replies, somewhat shyly.
With that out of the way and class starting, you got on with your work. Wonwoo had been sniffling through most of the lecture, earning some irritated stares from your classmates. "I thought you said you didn't get sick easily?" you whispered with a worried expression.
"I'm not sick, it's fine." he whispered back.
"You're such a liar. Here's a tissue - after this we'll go straight back to our room and I'll get you some cold medicine, okay?"
"Are you sure? I can do it myself, it's no bother."
"Absolutely not mister - you'll be staying nice and cosy in your bed."
Once the lecture finishes and the two of you leave, you stop just before going outside to pull up Wonwoo's hood. "Niceee and warm. You can use your umbrella yourself, I have a small one in my bag!"
"You had your own one this whole time?" he questioned.
"Wellll I didn't realise until you'd already gone to get one and it was nice to share. I do feel kinda bad about you getting sick though." you laugh.
"It's okay, it was worth it." he said, grinning.
You yanked the drawstrings of his hoodie so it closed up around his face, "Stop smiling like that!!"
"Oi - I can't see!" he whined, flailing his arms around playfully and messing your hair up with his hands.
"Okay okay, here. Don't you dare get me sick too." you loosened the hood carefully, and tidied up his hair before doing the same to your own.
The rain had eased up a bit now, but you still checked Wonwoo was staying dry this time and nagged him whenever he joked about ditching the umbrella to get more sick so you'd look after him - even though you planned to do that anyway.
As soon as you got back, you instructed Wonwoo to get changed into something comfy and set up his bed with a fluffy blanket and some of your extra pillows. When he was done getting changed, you forced him into bed and got him some water before getting him some water and placing it on his bedside table. "Okay. Is there anything else you need?"
"Honestly Sora, I'm not even that ill - you don't need to do all of this for me."
"I want to! Now wait here." you hurried off to the communal kitchen and got your dad's homemade herbal syrup out of the fridge. He made this for you before you came to uni in case you ever got sick so now was the perfect time to put it to use. You picked out a cute mug and filled it with hot water, along with the syrup, then carried it back to your room. You gave it to him and told him to drink up. He reluctantly agreed and finished the drink.
"Happy now?" he said with a smile. "Thank you, I appreciate it. But seriously, don't bother going back out into the rain for me, I'm sure this and some rest will be enough. Can you just keep me company instead?" He shuffled along his bed and patted the spot beside him. You both had double beds so there was more than enough space for you to sit next to him. Grabbing your pillow from your bed, you placed it down and got nice and comfy next to him. Why did his bed feel so much more comfortable than yours? The two of you just talked for the next hour or so, it was so peaceful that at some point without noticing you drifted off to sleep.
When you woke up it was already dark, and you felt something cold moving over your face. You opened your eyes to see Wonwoo close to you, leaning over your face. "Ah, sorry I woke you up - you didn't take your makeup off so I thought I'd do it for you so you don't break out." he explained.
You smiled brightly and ruffled his hair, "Thank you, Wonwoo. Very sweet of you." He smiles back and continues to gently rub off the makeup from underneath your eye. You keep watching him as he does it and see him press his lips together as he focuses on getting every bit off for you, and you blush a little when you think of how cute he is.
