Tw/cw: Religious abuse, homophobia

Karl blinked his eyes open the next morning, and groaned as his eyes fell on a picture of God.

"What do you mean?" Karl looked toward the door as he heard hushed voices.

"He brought that Karl kid, and Nicky I'm scared that he's on the verge of... Homosexualism." Karl frowned as he heard Sapnaps mom talking in a hushed voice near his door.

"Listen, Amanda, you need to calm down. They aren't leaving this house together. I have a plan. Let's go discuss this as we make breakfast, okay?" Karl recognized the male voice as Sapnaps dad.

Quickly, he got up, packing his suitcase and rushing to Sapnaps room. He pushed the door open, and closed it, too toeing to his boyfriend. "My love," he whispered, shaking Sapnap awake.

Sapnap blinked his eyes open slowly, smiling at Karl and grabbing his hand. "My love."

"Get up, we have to pack and leave." Karl whispered. "Your parents have something up their sleeve and I'm worried."

Sapnap frowned and sat up. "Hey, calm down, whats up?" He pulled Karl into his lap.

"They were talking, about me and you and how we won't be leaving together." Karl whispered. "I'm scared and I want to go home."

"Okay, okay." Sapnap grabbed his face and met his eyes. "We'll go home."

"Please, can we hurry?" Karl asked and Sapnap nodded.

"Yes, I'll get packed and we'll leave right now." He smiled at Karl and pulled him forward, kissing him softly.

Karl smiled and they got up quickly packing Sapnaps suitcase. They walled out to breakfast, their suitcases in hand, and Karl kept his eyes on the ground.

"Karl."

"Amanda."

"Karl."

"Nicholas."

Sapnap cleared his throat. "Mom, Dad, Karl and I are going to go home early."

"But I just got here." Sapnaps dad complained. "At least come to church first."

Karl closed his eyes. "No, we're going, thank you for letting us stay."

"We can attend church for a little bit, but we will not be staying." Sapnap said and Karl looked at him in surprise.

"But you said-"

"Its fine, Karl." Sapnap interuptted and Karl clammed up.

They sat and ate breakfast in a tense silence and then headed to church, Sapnap following his parents in the Tesla.

"Why are you doing this?" Karl asked as they drove behind the little honda.

"We will pop in, get approval from the church pastor, hes always been my biggest supporter, and then we'll tell my parents about us. He'll talk to them as was go home." Sapnap explained. "Everything will be fine, I promise."

Karl shook his head but didn't argue and when they pulled up to the church, his head was pounding with dread.

Quietly he followed his boyfriend and his parents into the large building, flashing fake smiles at the families he passed.

He knew something was up WHEN Sapnaps father pulled Sapnap away and toward a girl who looked a lot like someone Karl had met a football game from Sapnaps highschool.

"Karl," Sapnaps mom took his attention and he frowned. "I want to talk to you, can you come with me?"

"I'd rather not be alone with you." Karl muttered.

"I understand that, but please. I see the way you look at my son and I think I can help us both get along." She gave him a warm smile and Karl sighed, nodding.

"Okay, but you get ten minutes." He told her and she smiled, taking his arm.

"Now, Karl, I don't hate you." She started, walking him toward an emptier part of the church. "I simply, have my beliefs, and I don't want you to feel unwelcome in my home." She paused outside a small box. "This is how we should get to know eachother." She said, pulling a door open. "Its a confessional, you go in this side, and I go in the other. Then we can talk freely, under the eyes of the Lord where he can forgive us both and hopefully we can understand eachother."

Karl stared at the small seat inside the box, and looked at Sapnaps mom. "Really? You'd be willing to do that?"

She laughed. "Of course. I'll be right on the otherside."

Karl smiled greatfully and stepped into the box, sitting down. Sapnaps mother closed the door and Karl leaned his head back.

Suddenly, a loud thud hit the door to the box and Karl stood, then an old man started yelling from the area beside him.

"Repent! Leave Sapnap alone you demon and repent!"

Karl gasped, pushing against the door to open it but it was quickly closed on him. "Hey! Let me out!"

"Repent you fowl creature, apologize for your sins!" The man kept yelling and Karl screamed louder, pushing against the door.

"Let me out!"

Finally, the door fell open and Karl stumbled out into Sapnaps arms. "What the fuck is wrong with you guys?" Sapnap was yelling and Karl clung to him tightly as Sapnaps arms shielded him from the other people in the church.

"We're trying to save him!" Karl heard his mom yell.

"How can you hug it like that?" Sapnaps dad spat.

Karl looked up to see Sapnap glaring at them. "Sapnap." He whispered.

Sapnap looked down instantly, his face twisted in concern. "Karl?"

"Take me home." Karl groaned and Sapnap nodded, and they began moving.

"Where are you going?" Sapnaps mom demanded.

"Home." Sapnap yelled back. "I'm taking him home."

"Home?" Sapnaps dad said and Karl wished they would stop following them. "Your home is here!"

"My home is with him!" Sapnap yelled. "Damnit, how can you not see how I feel about him?"

There was a collective gasp and Karl heard the sound of a door opening and then he was in the car. He looked out the window, seeing Sapnap facing a crowd of people outside the church. He was yelling something and Sapnaps parents looked horrified.

The door opened, "you're dead to me." Sapnap shouted at his parents before climbing into the driverseat and turning the car on.

"I'm sorry." Karl whispered and Sapnap shook his head, grabbing Karls hand.

"You didn't do anything. They are crazy out of control assholes and if hell is real I hope they rot there." Sapnap seethed. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Karl lied, grabbing onto Sapnaps hand. "I just need to rest."

"You can climb in back. When we hit the interstate I'll put it on autopilot and join you, okay?"

Karl stared at Sapnap for a second, the mans face still twisted in anger. "You told them, didn't you?"

Sapnap face softened and he looked at Karl, laughing a bit. "Did I tell them that I'm pan? No."

Karl smiled a little. "But you told them you love me?"

"I told them I would die for you." Sapnap replied. "And that I will be creating a new family and a new home with you."

Karl blushed and leaned over, kissing Sapnaps arm. "Thank you."

"I'm sorry I brought you here." Sapnap whispered. "I should have never done that do you."
