Lost and found

Chapter 9

We've been sat here for about 30 minutes and not a word has been spoken from either of us. I'm starting to get bored.

He's just staring at me.

I've been occasionally staring back but I'm not going to lie, with the look on his face her kinda intimidating.

"Okay I'm officially bored so tell me what you want or I'm leaving" I leaned back on his sofa.

I have to say the place is beautiful. It's all painted an off white colour with marble countertops and silver cupboards. It is also partly scaled in an amazing crème coloured carpet. They've levelled up from what they used to be

He copied my movements and also sat back on the sofa opposite me. "I've told you what I want"

"And I've already told you no, so if that's all I'll be on my way" i said standing up dramatically and at the same time so did he. I then felt a hand pressed into my shoulder and he pushed me back into a sitting position on the sofa.

"No I don't think you will" he came out with. Wow cocky much.

"Listen I've told you already I'm never coming back, clearly you're new considering you aren't getting the point, but get it now; I'm not joining you guys again." He just stared at me for like a whole ass minute.

"Why" what a dumb question.

"Why? Why?," I was starting to get a angry, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHY" I was stood up in Jungwon face at this point. I took a deep breathe before I spoke again. "Again clearly they haven't told you much if your asking such docile questions but if you as someone they'll tell you why I'm not coming back." He had a calm look on his face which remained throughout.

"I understand you're upset, and I totally get it Kate, I do." He then gave me a sympathetic look, there's a 'but' coming, "but we need your help Kate. I seriously wouldn't ask if it wasn't serious" He looked genuine but I know not to trust them.

"Why can't you ask someone else. I'm not the only one who can do what I can" I questioned.

"But that's it, you are the only one who can do what you do. You proved it today" what is he talking about? "We always thought there was something special about you but we could never place is, but you knew" he looked at me expectantly, then it hit me.

"The car" I stated answering my unasked question myself.

"Exactly," he took a step towards me and kept talking. "You have a weird sixth sense, but it is a huge advantage if used in the right way" he had this excitement in his eyes.

"Wait wait. How do you even know any of this stuff, I thought you were new. You shouldn't know all of this unless you were there when it happened." I began to question him.

"That's because I was, I was just a little more in the shadows, hidden away if you will" he began to walk around me and sit back onto the sofa and propped his arm up on the arm rest.

"Okay, so, if I do help out, what's in it for me?" I'm not gonna be doing this shit for free.

"We leave you alone" What? I've been trying to get the, to do that for years.

"You're serious?" I asked shocked.

"Completely. We won't send anyone to check on you anymore, no more askingyou for favours, and compensation for previous incidents you may have had with us." I looked at him with mild anger on my face.

"You know for a fact that there is nothing to compensate for what you did to Kai" he put his hands up in a surrender position.

"Not me personally, however yes I know there's nothing that can make up for that, but we can try. I promise you'll never hear from us again if you help us one more time."

We stayed silent for a few minutes as I moved to sit on the sofa and stare into nothing while I think of all the pros and cons.

Pros: They leave me alone, I never have to put up with the checkups, I can try to leave my past behind me, I could get some closure for my best friend.

Cons: I could die.

That seems like a major con, however I guess the pros weigh out the cons.

I look up with a determined look on my face and turn my head towards Jungwon.

"Fine, I'll do it. One one condition" he nodded for me to continue, "I can back out whenever I want. If I feel unsafe or uncomfortable I have every right to get the fuck outta there whenever ide like" This was my only term and I'm gonna stick by it.

Jungwon looked at me strangely. I'm assuming he's thinking over my offer and he eventually speaks "Deal"

I nodded to him. I hope this doesn't turn into the shit show I'm expecting it to turn into.
