Eighteen months later

"Marco, I can't do it," I say, closing my eyes so I don't see the view below me. We're on board a small plane which will take us to our skydiving spot.

Yes, Marco and I are in Bantayan Island, Cebu to try skydiving.

"Don't worry, babe. I'm here," he assures me, even adding a kiss on the cheek to calm me down.

"I love you, but I hate you now for this," I shout, feeling the adrenaline kick in. Marco chuckles and playfully bites my ear.

"I love you, and I will show you the ways how much I love you when we're alone."

Marco knows the effect his words have on me, so while I'm still processing them, he takes the opportunity to jump.

I scream as I feel the wind brushing against my skin. It feels like my heart is about to leap off my chest. Sweat forms in my nose and forehead even with the cool breeze. To calm me, Marco just keeps on whispering how much he loves me the entire time we're flying.

"You know, you have to enjoy skydiving. You're going to design shirts for the company, so might as well show them that you're having fun," Marco jokes. He holds my hands and squeezes them.

"I can actually have fun if I don't end up dead after," I retort. I am all up for adventure, but it doesn't mean I don't get scared.

"Don't worry, we're almost there."

Few minutes in, we're still flying. The only difference is that I'm now enjoying it. With one eye open, I get to see the stunning panoramic view of Bantayan Island. It's amazing how our home country has these beautiful destinations that we should promote more.

I take that as my next project. I already have a meeting set with the local government of Cebu, and I just need to win them over with my proposal.

With two eyes open, I scream not out of fear, but out of fun.

"That's the way to do it," Marco lauds me. He plants a kiss on my temple and whispers, "I love you. Thank you for taking a chance on me."

The first few months after we reconciled were not easy for Marco. He had to earn the trust of Ruth, Chinkay, my mom, and my dad. He also had to win back my trust, while finding ways to support me in my shirt business.

What sealed the deal was when he inspired me to take a chance in a big project. If not for his encouraging words and unrelenting support throughout my sleepless nights and coffee-and-cheesecake days, I wouldn't be able to sign an agreement with one of the biggest hotel resorts in Boracay.

And if not for that Boracay project, I wouldn't get this opportunity to work and have fun in Cebu.

"Thank you for reminding me that we all have one chance to take," I answer.

He chuckles. "So about our alone time in the hotel room later..."

I playfully swat him in the arm as we descend to the ground.
