Cody     Thursday

The next day after school, Noah drove me to the hotel room we got for Gwen. He complained about how he could be doing "something better" instead of seeing someone he barely knew.

I knocked on the door to the room we had bought. Gwen's mum answered the door and pulled me into a hug. Gwen told me how her mum really liked my company because she saw me as a son that she didn't have but always wanted. Which is reasonable knowing Gwen sees me as an annoying little brother.

"Cody, hi sweetie! Gwen went out to go get us some lunch, but you can wait in here if you'd like." Noah wasn't paying a bit of attention, just typing on his phone. I smiled at her mum and grabbed Noah's arm, pulling him in the room with me. He looked up confused, and then back at his phone.

"Who's this? I love the sweater vest," she said while pointing at Noah.

"His name's Noah," I said, elbowing him in the side.

"Ow, oh. Hi, i'm Noah," she smiled at him as they shook hands. Gwen came in with a bag of food and two small cups of a drink.

"Cody, hi! I wasn't expecting you over, or Noah, actually. I'm surprised you could get him to drive you." He was sitting in a chair against the wall as Gwen's mum was eating the food Gwen had brought.

"He's got a soft spot for me. I can't blame him though, look at me," I say, sliding my hands down my body pretending to be sexy and flirty. Gwen gave a small laugh and Noah grunted.

"No I don't, and if I did, it's gone after whatever that was," he said, eyeing me up and down. I laughed and sat down on the end of one of the beds.

I stared at Noah's face as he watched out the window. He had long, soft looking hair, and lips that looked like they were soft like silk. In all honesty, he just looked pretty. I got a feeling in my stomach, it felt fuzzy and weird. I never felt that way, maybe not eating breakfast made my stomach feel off?

"Gwen! Do you want to go with me to the lobby? They have cookies down there that looked awesome!" I said, turning my face away from Noah's view. She looked scared at first, from the random voice but nodded.

"Do you want one?" I said to Noah as I held the door, waiting for Gwen to get her shoe on. He shook his head and Gwen and I walked out towards the elevator.

"My stomach feels, fuzzy?" I said after pressing the button "1" on the elevator.

"Does your head feel warm?" She put her hand on my forehead, I shook my head and walked out of the elevator towards the small restaurant area.

"I don't feel sick, it doesn't hurt either. It just feels weird, like there's a fluffy cat nudging it's head and body against my insides." I probably could have just said butterflies, but it didn't feel like that. It felt relaxing, warm, nice. I've never felt butterflies before though either, so how do I know what it is.

"Just two cookies please. Please don't tell me you lied about being over your obsession with me and that's what it is," I nodded quickly.

"I really am over you, I promise. I've never felt it before though, well I have, but it's always at the same moment, or a similar one. It's not like when I liked you, it's a lot different. Maybe cause it's not a crush or anything, but it's weird." She just stared at me, trying to solve whatever problem I had.

"When does it happen? Thank you," she turned her focus to the elderly woman handing her our two cookies.

"I don't know. It happened earlier when I was looking at Noah watch outside the window. Unless there's a bird in my stomach trying to fly out whenever I look outside, I don't know what it is!" She smirked at me and clicked the button with a "3" on it.

"How much do you hang out with Noah? Just curious," I looked at her confused before answering.

"Since i've met him, it's been like everyday? Stop changing topics, I could be dying right now!" She nodded and smiled, for some reason.

"Cody, I think you're fine. But, do you and Noah want to have a sleepover? I could invite Courtney, and my mum is going out on some date with a guy, so we have the whole hotel room to ourselves." She said, opening the door to the room. Noah was still sat in the chair on his phone, listening to some podcast as he read his book I didn't know he brought.

"Yeah! Noah, do you want to have a sleepover here?" He jumped at the noise and paused what he was listening to.

"Eh fine. Oh, your mum left here like 2 minutes ago, said she won't be back tonight and to "behave" whatever that means." He said, using air quotes.

"Great, i'll call Courtney," she said while scrolling through her contacts.

"Should we go get like, sleeping bags or something?" She looked up from her phone.

"No it's fine, we can share beds-"

"I am not sharing a bed with Courtney. I get you left last year and whatever but those rumours weren't true, I personally can't even stand her," Noah interupted. Gwen glared at him and then looked at me.

"You can share with Cody. I, unlike you, want to share with Courtney so I can make a move idiot." She said, then ringing Courtney. Noah's face went pink, then shoved his face in his book.

"Is Courtney coming over?" I asked after she hung up.

"Yeah, her and Duncan aren't together, right?" She looked at me, I just shrugged my shoulders and looked at Noah.

"She claims they aren't, but Duncan got all defensive yesterday when I was at her house so it's hard to tell." He didn't look up from his book once, that feeling came back again. I leaned over beside Gwen, almost resting my chin on her shoulder.

"I'm having that feeling again, you don't think i'm gonna throw up or something, right?" I whispered into her ear. My body always gets weak and tired whenever i'm ill. I don't feel ill though, I feel smiley and hyper, but why does my chest feel like this? Why do I feel like this?

Gwen put an arm around me and patted my shoulder.

"I'm going to ask for extra blankets, it's supposed to be cold tonight. You two behave," she said smiling and leaving the room.

"So, whatcha reading?" I said, walking over to the chair Noah was sitting in.

"Too big of words for you to understand, don't worry about it," he said while turning a page. I sat on the arm of the chair, laying one of my legs over Noah's.

"I know words, i'm not dumb," he rolled his eyes in response. Gwen walked back in, blankets under one of her arms.

Courtney followed behind her, and sat on the end of a bed.

(a/n: the actual sleep over is next chapter :))
