A dark, endless void shadows any and all light. We drift in this void, nothing pulling us down, no gravity. Only a black, dark, disturbance remains. Mother and I seem dead, motionless, with no feeling inside. Only emptiness.
~~10 minutes earlier
"Mother it has almost reached the water, hurry!" I yell through the water.
Mother's spell is nearly complete, I can feel it. The large winged beast entered the water. She finished the spell. A sharp beam of radiant colors shoots through mother's hands. The beast right a head, is shot through the center of its stomach.
The beast screams with pain. The beam still shooting. The skin of the beast is breaking, ripping open. Light shines out of the cracked skin. Mother's energy seems to be draining, I worry if keeping this spell for too long will kill her. I place a hand on my mother's shoulder, I smile. She nods. She breaks the spell and the creature explodes.
The explosion had a smaller effect due to us in the water, it only shifted our positions a couple feet away. Once the explosion concludes, a portal appears, in place of the beast. The portal draws us in with great force, no escaping.
On the other side of the portal lies nothing but darkness, a long distant void where we lay without movement.
A wave of wind rushes towards me with a ghostly feeling, I open my eyes.
