His shroud was a brownish color, embroidered with gears and levers. It killed me to burn it. It killed me even more when I looked at the battle axe, a constant reminder he wasn't there. Shane Holland had died fighting, and because of that I died a little more everyday.

*Flashback Over*

I rested my hands on the box that I had been trying to recreate. It flickered Apollo, then Zeus. It wasn't working. I groaned in frustration. The forge doors slammed open.

"Nyssa! Calypso! Calypso! Nyssa!" Leo cried, introducing me to a girl with caramel colored hair and hazel eyes with a pale complexion. She was giggling.

"Well, you already know I'm Calypso then," she said, holding out her hand, I shook it and smiled.

"And I'm Nyssa," I replied. Calypso sat down on a stool next to me.

"What are you working on?" She asked.

"Hey!" Leo said, "over here!"

"An automatic claiming cube," I told her.

"Ladies!" Leo said again, lighting his hair on fire.

"How does it work?" She stared at it.

"Well, it supposed to project the image of your godly parent when you hold it," I placed the cube in her hand, "and since your godly parent isn't Demeter, you can tell it needs some work."

"Hello? Nyssa, Caly?" Leo asked, juggling throwing knifes.

"That's neat," Calypso said, putting the cube down. A shell blew.

"Dinner," I said, "Calypso, would you like to sit with the Hephaestus cabin since the Atlas cabin isn't done yet?"

"Walk to dinner with me, Calypso?" Leo asked.

"I heard that tonight is the celebration dinner," Calypso said, "and yes."

"It is, we won a war," I said, "must have a feast." I smiled, though inside I was tearing myself apart. We walked to the dinning pavilion together, Leo trailing behind, trying to get our attention by randomly bursting into flames. We sat at the picnic table for Hephaestus campers. A feast was already set. The fire burned bright.

Before anyone could get food, Chiron galloped to the front.

"Let us bless this meal, and present our offerings to the gods in person!" He cheered, rearing up in centaur form. A loud roar came from the campers as the gods flashed in.

"Sacrifice food to your godly parent, now!" Chiron called, as cabins got up as one, and lined up before their parent. I hung back as Leo lead Calypso up to meet Hephaestus. I didn't know what to do. I twisted the gear on my locket, and spoke into it.,

"Hephaestus, what do I do?" I asked miserably. The last message faded and a new took its place.

Go to Aphrodite, then come to me. It's ok, Alyssa.

It's ok, I took a deep breath. The last Aphrodite camper burned her food and greeted her mother. My mother. I grabbed a plate. I must have looked pale. I filled my plate, but my hands were shaking. I stepped out of the bundle of Hephaestus campers.

"Nyssa," Leo called, "where are you going?" I didn't look back at him. I looked only at the ground. I heard the other campers from cabin 9 calling out to me also.

"Nyssa," they echoed in the back of my mind. I was shaking all over now. The camp had fallen silent, and every eye was on me. I was reveling my secret to all of camp.

"I wish Shane was here," I muttered quietly, Hephaestus looked at me sympathetically. Then he looked to Hades.

"Only for a little while," Hades told him, before snapping his fingers. A spirit floated from the ground and took shape. Shane stood in front of me.
