"Nyssa," Leo said again, "Nyssa, Nyssa, Nyssa!"

"What!" I slammed down my wrench, not able to focus on my project.

"I want you to meet my girlfriend!" Leo whined. He had died in the Giant War, but had come back to life with the help of the bronze dragon, which he named Festus. And he had brought back a girlfriend.

"I'm working, Leo," I said, "bring her here."

"Fine," Leo huffed. He walked out the forge doors, slamming them behind him. I sighed and went back to my project. Years ago, Shane's claiming cube had been destroyed on accident. I was trying to remake it. Shane would have been helping, but he had died in the Titan War. My heart clenched just thinking about him. He was the only person who knew my secret. I could still remember when he...

*Flashback to Titan War*

Shane and I stood together at the back of the group of Hephaestus campers. We were guarding one of the bridges. I don't remember which.

"You ok, Nyssa?" Shane asked. He gripped his battle axe tightly.

"I'm fine," I said quietly. I was scared, but fine. I had dagger in my hand, and another in my boot. The Greek armor I was wearing was a little too big.

"Why do you keep looking at that tower?" Shane persisted. I glanced at the tower in question. It was the Avenger Tower, Stark Towers, what ever you want to call it. I was almost certain that if we went in there, we would be able to find my dad, my real dad, Tony Stark.

"My dad works, lives, uh," I went silent. Shane understood. We heard a shout from up front.

"Get ready!" We looked over all the other heads of people to the large crowd of monsters heading to the bridge. No one knew what to do. I freaked out.

"Shane," I said frantically, "what if I'm not good enough? I'm not really one of you, there's a reason Aphrodite's children aren't fighting on this bridge!" I took my dagger in both hands, watching the monsters advance.

"Nyssa," Shane turned me to face him, "you are beautiful, and strong, and I don't care who's child you are. You're my little sister. You'll be fine. So show those monsters what a daughter of Aphrodite can do."

"I'm not a daughter of Aphrodite," I whispered, "I'm a daughter of Hephaestus," I felt my locket beneath my armor. Shane smiled at me.

"Yes you are," then he straightened up, and I did too. The monsters were on us.

I fought alongside my brother for hours. I was fighting one certain empousa, that I couldn't beat. Hellhounds turned to dust around me. I saw Jake Mason bring down a enemy cyclops with some of his friends.

"Stupid girl," the empousa purred, "die." I blocked one of her long claws that were longer than my dagger. I kicked at her legs. In the corner of my eye, I saw the sun start to rise. The empousa saw too.

"Oh, well," she sighed, "if I can't get you..." She jumped to the side, on Shane's back. Before I could react, she sunk her claws all the way through his body and out his chest.

The world stopped, along with my heart. My vision tunneled, and all I could see was Shane, as the demon ripped her claws out, and scampered off with the rest of her monster friends. I raced to Shane, dropping my dagger. I caught him as he fell.

"Shane!" I screamed, crying. His breaths were short and labored. The rest of the demigods made a circle around us. They knew Shane couldn't be saved.

"She fought dirty," Shane gasped, "I wasn't even her opponent,"

"Shane!" I yelled again, "don't die! I need you!" He was bleeding out fast, and my hands were red.

"Someone one get an Apollo kid! Bandages! Ambrosia! Please!" I sobbed into Shane's bloody shirt.

"Take- m-my axe," he stuttered, losing breath. He held up his battle axe, which was a gift from Hephaestus. I shook my head.

"I can't, it's yours," I told him, tears blurring my vision.

"Nyssa, I-I'm not go-going to make- make it," he tried to make full sentences, "fight with it, Nyssa. W-win for me..." The light drained out of his brown eyes. I shook Shane's lifeless body, pleading with it to came back. Someone tried to grab me, drag me away. I kicked and screamed as they carried me away from my brother.
