Before continuing, know that this is *not* a character x reader. This is a fan-fiction and has a protagonist with their own name and background, written in 1st person. I will admit, the chapters are a bit lengthy but it's a detailed, wholesome book with some scenes that may be uncomfortable so read at your own risk and skip if needed.
When someone innocent is raised in a happy, loving family but gets trapped into an abusive relationship, the damage is beyond fixing. Or so the delicate Ece believed. Although she managed to escape it, it still lingered around, wounding her scars again until she met a man who felt like home again. He was the most calm and generous, caring and understanding, supportive and patient. Who protected her from anything harmful until the worst happened and he lost himself, acting out in rage.

I spat out the minty foam from my mouth and rinsed it out with cold water, splashing some on my face afterwards. I cleansed, dried, exfoliated, and toned it before letting down my medium length hair and combing it. I felt satisfied knowing that it wasn't tangled at all but it was rather smooth and silky. The hair mask did work after all. I put down the comb right back to where it was and poured some hand sanitizer on my hands before rubbing it all over them. I tucked both sides of my hair behind my ears and moved to my closet, pulling off the clothes I kept ready last night for today. It was nothing too fancy, just a tight white top with a well-knitted medium-length beige cardigan and some black mom jeans for the bottom. I inserted the golden-colored stud earrings through the holes before securing it and adjusting the simple necklace that I wore. Once I had packed whatever that might be needed, I decided to grab my breakfast on the way from the cafe nearby.
After entering the small and cute shop, the strong smell of vanilla and coffee beans hit my nostrils. I hated the strong smell of coffee, so I quickly gave my order.
"That'll be 1,000 yen ma'am," the young worker smiled at me. I reached into my back pocket just to realize I had forgotten to bring some change with me, so I deeply sighed and reached into my bag to get my card when a calming voice spoke.
"It's okay, I got it," he said, handing the worker the cash. The worker raised her brows at me and grinned.
"No problem with a fine gentleman buying the lovely lady her coffee, thank you and here's your receipt," she handed it to me as my gaze was still on the man.
He was definitely taller than me, wearing a button up white shirt with a dark blue professional coat along with matching pants. His settled but messy hair was the darkest as it stood out because of his lightly tanned skin. He wore glasses but not the ugly kind. They were sexy on him, especially with his thick eyebrows.
"Wait, you didn't have to-" I said after in a low tone before he opened the cafe door to walk out. He turned his head and smiled slightly.
"It's alright, you can repay me some other time."
And he was off.
I watched him walk off perfectly with one suitcase bag in his hand and the other occupied with his phone.
Flawless. So flawless.
I felt warmth in my cheeks and I snapped out of it when another worker called out my drink's name. I grabbed it and took a sip of it too soon, burning my tongue a little.
The morning seemed good. The sky was clear, the birds sang, people talked, children laughed, couples kissed, and a guy even bought me a coffee.
Great even.
