Steve's point of view
They took me back, and that's when the labor pains started. My God, were they painful, especially since I was pregnant with twins! I told them I felt like pushing, so I did, ever so slightly. That's when the labor pains started to kick in. I did one big, long push, tried to catch my breath, then did it again, and caught my breath again. My belly was hurting too much. I couldn't stop pushing; I was doing it ever so slightly, and it was hurting too sometimes. But the twins started moving. I told them, "I can feel you guys." I did one big push again. "Good," the nurses said. "Good, McGarrett," I heard a nurse say. The twins weren't moving, and I started panicking. The one I could feel moving was Kalani. I sensed Luna coming until I felt a pop. I cringed in pain until I heard a nurse say, "McGarrett, your water broke." I was thinking to myself that I was going to meet Luna and Kalani today. I tried my best not to cry. I could still feel Kalani kicking. I pushed once more and then stopped. The nurse pulled my hand down and said, "Do you feel the head?" I gasped and burst into happy tears, saying, "Yes, I feel you, Luna girl." My stomach was burning until I said, "I got you, Luna girl," I said to her. I heard a nurse say, "Are you ready, McGarrett?" I responded, "Yes." "Push on three," I heard the nurse say as I got ready.

"One, two, three, GO!"

I did; I kept doing it. "Good, McGarrett, keep going," I heard a nurse say. I did until I heard, "She's here!" I started to cry. The nurse brought her over. My face was in tears as I said, "Hi, Luna, it's Daddy." The nurse took her over until I felt the rush of pain again, and my stomach started to absolutely burn again. I pushed and pushed until the nurse said, "She's here." I was in even more tears. The nurse brought Kalani over, and I said, "Hi, Kalani girl, it's Daddy." "Congratulations, McGarrett," the nurse said. I asked if I could have a tissue. The nurse handed me a tissue, and I wiped my tears away. "Thank you," I said back. She brought over Luna, and I held her. I smiled and said, "Hi, baby girl." I could hear Kalani crying.

They took me out of the labor ward and into the recovery ward, where everyone was waiting. They wheeled me into room 12. I asked about Kalani, and the nurse said they would bring her over. I smiled as I held Luna.
