Steve's pov
I was sitting there on a sofa. Luna and Kalani were beside me on the sofa. I finally got Kalani down; she's been having a hard time sleeping, while Luna not so much. I was just sitting there reading a magazine. "I'm sorry, Commander. The governor will be with you shortly." I nodded and said, "Mahalo." I looked back at my magazine until I saw a girl in an orange top, black skirt, and black open-toe heels walking over. "Hi, Officer Lori Weston here to see the governor." "Thank you, Officer Weston. The governor will see you in a few." Lori walked over to sit on the sofa.
Lori's POV
I walked over to the sofa to see two cute babies and a boy in a suit. I noticed one of them crying. I said, "Someone had a bad night." "What?" he said. "Someone had a bad night," I repeated. "Yeah, Kalani is having trouble sleeping; Luna not so much." "I can see that," I said. The two of us went to meet with the governor.
Story
After the meeting, they walked out, and Kalani started to cry. "I know, Kalani girl," Steve said. "Would you mind sitting in the back with them?" Steve asked Lori. "Don't mind if I do," Lori said as she climbed in the back with Luna and Kalani. Steve got up front, started the truck, and they were off to the crime scene.
Lori's POV
As I was sitting in the back, I looked at Luna, and she was a sound sleeper. I looked at Kalani, who was asleep. I was glad she was asleep and not crying. We continued to the crime scene.
Crime Scene
We arrived at the crime scene. Steve got out and got Luna, while I got out and took Kalani out very gently without waking her. Danny said, "You look nice; you cleaned up well, babe." Steve introduced Lori to Danny, then Chin and Kono. "Who's the vic?" Steve asked. "The victim is 25-year-old Oakley Torres," Chin said. Steve had Kono and Lori go to Oakley's house, while Steve and Danny went back to headquarters. Chin stayed at the crime scene.
