Truth and Lie
Truth is like alcohol—
it heals a wound
but still you’ll feel pain.
It may hurt at first,
but later the pain fades.
It’s hard to accept things—
like accepting the truth.
But it’s what we need—
accepting what is true
for it is what heals us.
On the other hand,
there’s a lie that seems true.
A lie that’s like a pain killer—
it gives instant relief,
but has side effects forever.
Lies are everywhere
and they disguise the truth.
Truth will soon come out
that will shock and hurt us,
but will eventually heal us.
Between the truth and the lie,
lie may look like the truth
while truth may look like a lie.
Truth may hurt for a while,
but a lie hurts forever.
Your words may fool me,
but your actions will not.
Hurt me with the truth, it’s okay.
But never comfort me with a lie
for sooner I’ll know what’s real.
