Futakuchi doesn't know how long he cried, but by the time he calmed down, it was already dark in the hospital. He was sure the sun was setting when he slumped in front of the door and a look at his phone told him the time, 11:55 p.m., just before midnight. He knew that even Moniwa had been crying because he couldn't help noticing his sobs. He looked around but couldn't see Aone anywhere. He knew the bigger one had hugged him but he had fallen asleep in the meantime, maybe that was the time the bigger one decided to go home. Futakuchi also decided to go home, after all it was late and the smaller one will probably be asleep by now. So Futakuchi made his way through the empty and dark hospital towards the exit and then drove home. When he got home he went straight to bed because he felt exhausted and before he knew it he fell asleep.
The next morning he made his way to the gym to meet with the team. He got an idea for a team meeting and wanted to share it with the team. When he arrived at the hall he was greeted by the team and couldn't help but smile. He doesn't want to admit it, but since Moniwa was in the hospital, Futakuchi has started to like the team more, as they've really been a help when he needed a distraction. But now he had the problem that he didn't know how to bring up the idea so he decided to take care of the training first and propose it afterwards. And so he helped Kogane to improve his pass or give the new first years tips for blocking. At the end of the day he asked the trainer how best to propose it and before he knew it the trainer was calling everyone. "Your captain would like to suggest something to you," he said, and immediately all eyes were on Futakuchi. "Well um...there's fireworks in town in a week...and you can see it from the hospital, so I figured...well," Futakuchi replied uncertainly, not knowing how best to say it target. "Would you like to take us all to visit Moniwa so we can watch it together?" Nametsu asked, and Futakuchi's heart dropped when she got to the point. "Yeah right. After all, we're all his friends and maybe he'll be better off seeing all of us and not just 1 or 2 of us," he replied with a slight smile, and the whole team immediately agreed. And so it was clear that they would all visit Moniwa in the hospital together to see the fireworks.
The team had decided to meet at the hospital at 7pm as the fireworks would start at 8pm. That meant Futakuchi still had enough time to ask the doctor if Moniwa could go out, and in turn he had to keep everything secret from Moniwa because they planned it as a surprise. He thought about how difficult it would be because he himself was known for not being able to keep secrets. With these thoughts he sat on the bus the whole time and only realized that he had missed his stop when the bus driver said that they were at the last stop. Futakuchi, slightly annoyed at the fact that he had missed his stop, was now walking through town on his way home. On the way he stopped at a gas station to get something to eat because it was late and he didn't want to do anything more when he got home. When he got home he took a shower and then went back to his room to set an alarm for 10am. After doing this he lay down in bed and stared at the ceiling for a few more minutes before falling asleep.
The next day, Futakuchi was at the doctors at 6 p.m. and checked with Moniwa's doctor if he could go outside. "In a wheelchair and a portable respirator, it's not a problem," she said, which made Futakuchi a little happier that his plan was working. After he thanked her, he went to the nurse room to ask a nurse about a wheelchair. Just as he was on his way to the room, the rest of the team came, so they all made their way to Moniwa, who looked surprised when he saw everyone in his room together. "What are you all doing here?" the smaller one asked with a cough and before Futakuchi could answer, Koganegawa spoke up. "We're all here to watch the fireworks with you in an hour," the energetic first year replied and Moniwa started to smile. "That's a great idea, I'd love to see it, but it's hard to do from here," the smaller one replied, and Futakuchi smiled. "We know that, that's why we got permission for you to go outside...in a wheelchair, of course," Futakuchi said calmly, already helping the smaller one into the wheelchair. Shortly thereafter, a nurse came to Moniwa to give him the transportable breathing apparatus.
1 hour later everyone was outside and looked at the fireworks. Futakuchi leaned against a tree and looked at Moniwa while Aone joined him with a worried look. He noticed Futakuchi was thinking something and Futakuchi knew he couldn't lie to Aone. "Even though he is smiling, Moniwa is worse today. Was it a mistake should we have left him in bed today so he could rest?" , Futakuchi spoke without realizing that Aone put a hand on his shoulder. Just as the taller one was about to say something, he looked at Moniwa, who was approaching them both. Without hesitation, he let go of Futakuchi's shoulder, who immediately went to Moniwa and held him before he could fall. "K-Kaname, I told you not to walk...you promised me," Futakuchi said, hugging the smaller one tightly. "Hey Kenji...", the smaller one replied and smiled a bit. "What's up Kaname? Do you want to go back to your room or do you want a drink?" Futakuchi replied panicked, but calmed down a bit as the smaller one smiled more. "See you later...", the smaller one replies and closes his eyes. Futakuchi had hopes that Moniwa would just sleep, but that faded when Moniwa's nurse in charge, sitting behind him, said the phrase Futakuchi never wanted to hear. "Dead time 8:25 p.m."
