Summary: Y/n and Eddie have been friends since middle school, that's why telling him she's fallen in love with him is so hard.
Super fluffy <3
This one is for @sophiewrites4fun
It's my first request ever and I'm so happy you asked me to do this, I hope it's everything you'd imagined it would be.—————————————♡—————————————
Y/n didn't remember what life was like seven years prior.
She wasn't sure whether it was because seven years ago was a long time ago, especially when you're so young, or, most likely, because she hadn't truly known what 'living life' was until she met Eddie Munson.February 1977:
Tears were rolling down Y/N's cheeks as she struggled to pick her bicycle up from the ground.
Her personal bullies had thrown it with so much violence, one of its tires had fallen off and now there was this massive hole on it.Her parents would be so mad... they had just bought her a new bike, after all.
She made a mental note she had to stick up for herself, if she wanted things to actually change; then made another one, remembering herself she would never find the courage and the strenght in her to do so.Truth is, she had always been a chubby kid, she was a nerd and, to top it all off, she was a gifted kid.
She loved learning new stuff, it came natural to her.
Yes, she wasn't exactly fitting the stereotypical image that a girl her age was supposed to fit, but she didn't see how that justified her constant bullying.
She wasn't harming anyone, after all.Kids could be really awful when you were different...
"Hey, do you need any help?" She heard a soft voice from behind her.
She turned around and she was met with a small, skinny boy.
His hair was buzzed, his clothes where scrunchy, most certainly second hand, but he had a reassuring smile on his face. She recognised him.
He was Eddie Munson: she saw him in her English class at the beginning of the year.
At first, he got straight As, just like she did.
Then, all of a sudden, his grades started to get worse and, when they got to the point they weren't as good as they were required to be for a kid taking the most advanced class, he got moved to a lower level."I said, you need a hand?" Eddie asked again, since he hadn't received an answer the first time.
"Oh yeah, yeah sorry. I could actually use a hand, yes, thank you." She sniffled, wiping her last tears away with her sleeve while she got up from the ground.
The boy didn't need to hear the words twice, he was already on his knees, helping Y/n picking up her bike.
When it was back on what remained of its two wheels, Y/n spoke.
"I don't know how to take it home, I live so far away from here... besides, I can't let my parents see my new bike this way, they're gonna kill me..."
Tears filled Y/N's eyes again."No, don't cry! No need to! Me and my uncle live just a few blocks away, at the trailer park. If you want, I can ask him to fix your tire, I'm sure he'll do it!" He smiled in her direction.
"You, you would do that for me?" Y/n smiled widely. She was surprised someone, a stranger especially, would be kind to her. She wasn't used to it.
"Of course!! I remember you from my old English class, I remember you telling the teacher you read lord of the rings. It was super metal of you. Anyone who has read lord of the rings is a friend of mine without any doubt!" He interrupted himself, realising he must have forgotten something really important "By the way, I'm Eddie."
