My Shouting Match

Pain whispers inside my ear,

"My child,

You belong to me,

Not that boy that calls you his own,

You beg me to live,

But do you do the same to him?
You beg me to die,

But do you do the same to him?
Can he make you bleed,

Like I can?

Can he promise that he will keep you forever?"

I shout back,

"That boy,

He's the only one I truly belong to.

You think I enjoy everything you do,

But I don't.

I want you to let me go,

Can't take it anymore,

I'm tired of waiting for you to get the hint,

He's everything you aren't.

He's promised he'll keep me forever,

Something you can never promise."
