I felt the shitty summer camp bus jump slightly as it made it's way onto camp grounds. I looked over to Jane and smiled. She gave me one back which made my stomach knot slightly. I looked out the window to see the big oak sign with the camp name carved out, "Camp Red Leaf". It was a old camp that had been around for a really long time. Apparently there's like creatures that lurk in the woods. There's supposedly been deaths here too. Me and Jane never believed in things like that but we love all the scary stories about it. The bus finally came to a stop and I grabbed my backpack that had been resting on the bus floor next to Jane's. She grabbed her's as well and pulled the straps over her shoulders. I pulled on strap over my shoulder and stood up. She did the same and we waited for most of the kids to rush through the aisle so it wouldn't be hard to get through. She finally walked out of the cramped space and walked down. I was getting out as well when I bumped into this short dorky kid who had been sitting next to this one kid who was staring at me and Jane the whole bus ride. I rolled my eyes "watch where your going jackass" I said pushing past him. I caught up with Jane and we made our way into camp. I could smell the fresh summer breeze and feel the sun shining down. We walked to the middle of the camp where the rest of the kids were gathered around. It was a medium sized fire pit surrounded by oak logs. Jane grabbed my hand and brought me over to one of the logs. We sat down and watched as a few more people entered the camp. After everyone arrived one of the counselors spoke up. "Hello everyone, I'm counselor Steve and I'm going to be making sure all you little shit heads stay out of trouble" I heard him say crossing his arms. I saw another counselor, a girl lightly hit him. All the counselors looked like kids who were fresh out of high school and needed a summer job and ended up having to work with a bunch of shitty little kids.

After about 30 minutes of boring introductions and rules and schedules we were finally going to find out who was going to be in our cabins. Me and Jane both crossed our fingers as counselor Robin looked at the clip board with the cabin assignments. I crossed my arms anxiously. "Ok so first off, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson and Suzie Bingham, cabin 1" she said. She then listed 2 more cabins and I was still crossing my fingers. "Okay cabin 3, Max Mayfield, Will Byers, Mike Wheeler and Jane Hooper". Me and Jane smiled and then high fived. I was happy me and her were going to be in the same cabin but through Introductions earlier, iv'e learned that Will and Mike are both pretty scrawny boys. And Mike, in fact was the one who was staring at me and Jane the whole bus ride. I sighed softly but smiled after. After counselor Robin said the rest of the cabin assignments, counselor Jonathan told us to head to our cabins. I was happy to finally move from the rough oak log I had been sitting on for like 43 minutes now. I got up and grabbed Jane's hand and we ran to cabin 3. She let go of my hand and opened the door up. We looked inside and saw only 3 beds. "Top bunk?" I asked her. She nodded eagerly and we climbed the small latter up onto it. We placed both of our backpacks at the end of the bed. Then we climbed back down to look at the rest of the small cabin. It was nothing too special, one bunk bed and a normal bed across the room from it, a bathroom in the back. We climbed back to the top bunk and plopped down. We finally saw the other 2 boys come in. They walked in together but didn't seem to know eachother. But I took my vision away from them and focused it back on Jane. I gave her the biggest smile. This is going to be the best summer ever.
