(Sixth Year Marauders, 5th Year Regulus)

"James? Hullo?" Sirius shook James, "Evans just asked you, mate." James startled, what had they been doing? Oh, yeah He thought looking around. The Marauders, Lily and her close friends Marlene, Mary and Marlene's girlfriend, Dorcas, Frank Longbottom, were playing truth or dare in the Gryffindor common room.

"Uhm, truth I guess, only cause' I'm tired, though!" James said. Lily smirked at him and then at Marlene.

"Okay then, when we made love potions for Slughorn this week, what did you smell?" James felt his gut wrench a little. Marlene told her something, she must have.

"Random stuff, actually. Like, I smell the quidditch pitch, uhm this is weird; the broom closet but don't ask about that one, I smell expensive cologne, the library -stop laughing will you, Evans- and this last one's weird but I don't actually have a name for this smell. It's almost like Sirius, but when he gets home from break or on the train."

         When he had told Marlene all of this she instantly thought he had a crush on Sirius. 'For God's sake,' he had said 'when have you seen Sirius spend more than ten minutes in the library?' Not that she had believed him.

"I- mate, in all kindness, why the hell do you smell my house?" Sirius looked confused, James had only been there once, and that had ended badly.

"Oh I reckon you're right mate; it is your house. Honestly, to answer that, I have no- I don't- Damnit Evans! Why can't I lie?" He turned to face Evans who was giggling. She shrugged and looked away Mary and Marlene were giggling too.

"I don't want to tell you why I smell your house, but, if you're worried I don't have a crush on you." James snorted, "I mean please, look at me." (Personal opinion I think Fan-Cast James is more attractive that Sirius but like don't @ me) Sirius laughed again and shrugged; that was good enough for him.

That was, until he thought about those smells. As he was thinking about who he knew that played quidditch, liked to read, and wore expensive cologne his mind landed on his younger brother: Regulus Black. "Mate you don't... " He paused, he didn't want to accidentally out James "Can we talk outside?" Sirius gestured towards the tapestry door. James cocked an eyebrow at Sirius' stiff demeanor but followed him out.

"It's Regie, isn't it. You smell Regie." Sirius said crossing his arms and glaring. He couldn't believe it, his best friend. He hoped he was wrong for Regulus' sake; James was insufferable and to him, way above Regie.

"Woah, woah, woah! Regie? You mean your brother, Regulus? I'm not even gay Sirius!" James said putting his hands up in defense. Sirius thought for a moment, chewing his lip.

"Yeah, yeah okay. Sorry." Sirius nodded, but he didn't belive James. There wasn't a single person besides him or Regie that would smell like that. And, thanks to Evans, he knew that James didn't have a crush on him. So that left Regie. His baby brother. The death eater. He honestly couldn't care less if Regie liked James, in fact, he was almost sure he did, it was the idea of James dating him that was a real bother. James was his real brother, they were close, and James was way above Regie. James was honest and bold and charismatic and not a bloody slytherin.

His brother was none of those things. Not that he didnt love him, he just wasn't good enough for James. James, however, was back in the common room daydreaming about Regulus. The more he thought of him, the more he wanted him.

"Hey guys, I don't feel great today; I'm gonna head off to bed." James mumbled standing up. The rest of then nodded and mumbled their sympathy but, in all, ignored him as he left. Once James was back in his room he grabbed the marauders' map they had just perfected and his invisibility cloak. He slipped on the cloak and slipped out of Gryffindor tower.

"I solemnly swear I am up to no good." He whispered looking down at the map. Regulus was up on the Astronomy tower. He should've known, Regie practically lived up there. "Mischief managed" he whispered and snuck off towards the tower.

"Hey, Regie?" He whispered quietly.
