"Let's get down to the feast." Pansy says getting the attention of the group who were sitting around Draco and I playing wizarding chest.
"We will once I beat Draco." I state, no one paid attention a the girl stormed off with Daphne Greengrass following her. Draco moved one of his pawns ending the game again. "How are you so good at this damn game." I whine as we stand up and leaving the common room.
"Years of playing with the house elf, Debby, he's actually really good at it. Though I think he always let me win." Draco and I walked behind the group, each step slowing until we came to a stop.
"I don't want to go home." I whisper, Draco has a look of sadness as he put a hand on my shoulder.
"You can write to me everyday, and if you can find away you can come over whenever you want. I'm sure mother would love to meet you." His hand trailed down my arm grabbing my hand and running his thumb over the ring he gave me. "I'll always be here for you." He says softly giving my hand a squeeze. Silently we walked into the Great Hall not saying anything just holding each other's hands. Draco was the only person to accept me into Slytherin and I was Draco's only true friend as he kept everyone else at arms length.
The atmosphere of the Great Hall was like the first day feast. Everyone was talking about the year and the memories made through out it. Looking towards the Gryffindor table I can see the four red heads of Percy, Fred, George and Ron. Percy was zoned out not paying attention, probably planning how he was going to take over the ministry when he graduates. Fred and George were messing around with some first years while talking too Lee and Angela. Ron was talking to Granger, who was looking around worried.
The door to the Great Hall opened, everyone went quiet as they looked towards the door seeing Potter. Ron and Granger jumped up from there seats running to give him a hug. Everyone quickly went back to there conversations, watching the trio joke and laugh, I feel the dread set in thinking about the coming summer. "You alright?" Draco asks as he nudges me to get me attention.
"Huh, oh yeah. Totally fine." I say looking down at my plate a small frown etched onto my face. Just then a clinking noise comes form the teachers table, McGonagall was holding her cup up the spoon in her other hand. As the hall went silent Dumbledore stands up for his end of the year speech.
"Another year, gone! And now, as I understand it, the house cup needs awarded and the points stand thus. In fourth place: Gryffindor, with 312 points!" The Gryffindor table sat quietly as some Slytherins clapped trying to mock them. Half of the table sat glaring at the trio as Ron looked across the hall making eye contact with me before looking to Potter and giving him a pity smile. "In third place: Hufflepuff, with 352 points!" The Hufflepuff applauded themselves, then quieted down for Dumbledore to continue. "Second: Ravenclaw, with 426 points!" The Ravenclaw students cheered as they clapped for there placing. "And in first place, with 472 points: Slytherin house!" Dumbledore exclaims, Slytherin table erupted in cheers many students jumping up from there seat and throwing there caps into the air. Turning to Draco I pull him into a hug.
"We won. We actually won." I say in disbelief. Draco tightened his arms around me before letting go giving me a smile.
"Good job Evadanne." Draco congratulates knowing I won't here it when I get home.
"Yes, well done Slytherin, well done Slytherin. However, recent events must be taken into account and I have a few last minute points to award. To Miss Hermione Granger, for the cool use of intellect while others were in grave peril: fifty points!" The Gryffindor table cheered at the girl as the Slytherins went quiet. Looking to Draco I see the worry written on his face.
"Second, to Mr. Ronald Weasley, for the best played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years: fifty points!" Rolling my eyes I leans my arms on my table ready for the fact that Dumbledore was giving the house cup to Potter just because he's Harry Potter. "And third, to Mr. Harry Potter, for pure love and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor house: sixty points!" I felt like I was going to puke, they were tied with Slytherin and probably somehow going to win.
