My Choice

Draco and I sat up in our tree, something we normally do when we want to talk alone. Crabbe and Goyle stood at the base glaring at everyone that walked by but it wasn't that intimidating in there awkward stance. Looking down at my robes I watch the button on my shirt switch to Potter stinks. Laughing to myself I think about how long and late Draco and I had stayed up to make these buttons last night and now practically every Hogwarts student is wearing them. I watch as Potter and Ron get into a spat by the entrance too the school before he turns away and starts walking past the tree we are in.

"Why so tense Potter?" I hear Draco question looking up to him I let out a small laugh as I look back down to Potter who has a scowl on his face. He goes to walk away when Draco drops from the tree. "My Father and I have a bet you see. I don't think you're going to last 10 minutes." He pauses as he comes to stop in front of Potter. "He disagrees. He thinks you won't last five." He says with a smirk. Potter makes a quick dash forward causing Draco to take a step back as Potter is in his face.

"I don't give a damn what you or your father thinks Malfoy. He's vile and cruel, and you're just pathetic." Potter spits, grabbing his arm I pull him away.

"His father is a man with standards, unlike some people." I say with disgust, pushing him back slightly he gives me a sad look before turning away, turning around to Draco, I see him going for his wand. As I'm about to tell him to stop Professor Moody steps out and casts a spell at him. Where Draco once stood is now a white ferret. As moody lifts his wand it lifts Draco up and down in the air.

"I'll teach you cast a spell at someone while there back is turned." As he grabs Crabbe pants to put Draco into them, I grab the ferret out of the air holding him in my arms.

"How dare you!" I yell as I pet Draco's head, not going to lie but he's a really adorable ferret.

"Professor Moody?! What are you doing?" I hear McGonagall shout as she enters the courtyard.

"I was teaching before miss Weasley grabbed the ferret out of the air." I says with a sneer. McGonagall gave Professor Moody a look before turning to me. Waving her wand the ferret in my arms shifts back to Draco. His feet on the ground as and his arms by his side as my arms are wrapped around his waist. Quickly pulling away I scratch the back of my neck taking a step back as Draco looks over to Moody.

"My father will hear about this!" HE yells as he turns back to me.

"Is that a threat?" Moody yells as he moves towards Draco causing him to bump into my shoulder as he runs out of the courtyard. Giving Moody a glare I don't stay to watch the rest of the scene, instead turning to run after Draco.

*A few days later*

"Why are you dragging me here again?" I question Draco who is practically giddy as he makes his way to the first task.

"Father told me the first task is dragons. I just want to watch Potter get burnt to a crisp." He says as he gives me a smile, laughing I grab his arm and continue walking with him.

"This should be fun." I say with a laugh.

Hearing the canon go off, Cedric comes out a whole in the wall, Merlin I forgot he was competing. The dragon spat fire at him, dropping down to my knees I hide behind the barricade separating us and the task. I can't watch this, I can;t watch if Cedric gets hurt. I'm shaking as I start twisting the ring around my finger. A cold hang suddenly touches my head and start playing with my hair, helping calm me even as I can hear the fire and damage the dragon is causing. I flinch as the canon goes off again. Looking up I see Draco giving me a small smile as he crouches next to me. "He's okay. Maybe got a small burn on his arm." He says loud enough for me to hear over the cheering. Giving me his hand he helps me stand up with him. Watching the other contestants goes by quickly and of course Potter makes a mess of everything.

Getting his broom somehow and flying off the dragon broke from it's chains chasing him. Not sure what happens after he makes it back getting the golden egg and his broken broom falling to the ground as he runs towards the other champions with the egg. The kid next to us was cheering, Draco looked at the kid giving him a glare before pushing his beanie down his face. A small laugh leaves me as I follow Draco as he leaves the stands. "Well he lasted more then 10 minutes." I say with a laugh. He spins around to me giving me a glare that melts away as he looks at the teasing smile on my face.

"Well I'm sure he is going to die before the next task." He says with a laugh.

"And why's that?"

"Because he has to survive the Yule Ball." He says as he grabs my arm pulling me close to him as we walked.
