Chapter Six - Mine

Hailee's POV
We arrive at the drive in and I place the white Nike hat on y/n's head.
"In case there's paps it'll hide your face more." I say. "I value your privacy princess and I want you to be comfortable."
She smiles at me and tells me to wait as she grabs all the pillows and the blankets. I watch her from the rear view mirror as she arranges everything on the bed of her truck. She comes to my door and picks me up making me squeal. We sit side by side waiting for the movie to start. We make small talk and I inch my hand closer to hers until she grabs it intertwining our fingers. The movie is about to start and I hear a loud noise over the speaker.
"Ladies and gentlemen sorry for the inconvenience but the movies have been mixed up. Tonight's showing will be of IT not Big Hero 6"
"y/n I am so sorry." I say apologizing.
"Babe no need to apologize, I love IT, it's such a funny movie." She says smiling at me. The movie starts playing and I am honestly scared shitless. At every minor scare I jump closer and closer to y/n. The last straw was when that bitch ass clown came out of the sewer and ate Georgie's arm. I know that's at the very beginning but I hate horror movies.

y/n's POV
I notice Hailee jumping at the smallest of scares so I slowly snake my arms around her waist. I pull her onto my lap and between my legs so she can rest her back on my front. I feel her slowly relax into me.
"You could've mentioned you don't like scary movies Hailz." I say whispering into her ear making her shiver.
"I could've but would I be in this position with you right now." She says looking up at me.
"Hmm probably not." I say looking down at her with a goofy smile. I lean down to kiss her forehead but she simultaneously leans up to kiss mine so our lips touch. I kiss her soft lips and smile into the kiss. My grip around her tightens. I start to trace patterns on her bare stomach under the blanket since her tank top went up when she laid down. Her hand was brushing up and down my leg. At this point I couldn't focus on the movie. What brought me out of my thoughts about the beautiful girl in my lap was her ear piercing scream when Pennywise had yet about her jump scare. She turned quickly and nestled her face into my neck. Feeling her hot uneven breaths on my neck cause me to tighten my grip around her waist. She was holding onto me like a koala and like her life depended on it. As the movie kept on playing I felt her once tense body relax into my grip until she fell asleep. The movie came to an end I kiss the top of Hailee's head and pick her up. I carefully move her into the passenger seat of my truck and I pack up all of our stuff. I see a couple of flashes in my peripheral vision so I instinctively pull Hailee's hat lower hiding my face. I start my truck and I start driving towards Hailee's house. When I am about halfway there I hear Hailee say "baby can we just go to you place I don't want to be home all alone..."
"Okay sweetheart go back to sleep I will let you know when we get there." I say and Hailee grabs my hand off the shifter and kisses it softly before falling asleep. I drive back to my apartment and get a call it rings throughout my truck and I see my sisters name flash across the screen. I haven't talked to her in months. I cut all contact with my family expect for her but I haven't heard from her in a very long time. I pick up.
"y/n! It's good to hear your voice." She says.
"Hey Claire, not too loud Hailee is sleeping." I say.
"A new girl I see, she treating you right, you better open up to her y/n. You can't be alone forever." Claire says.
"I know I know, Hailee is different Claire, I like her and I've only known her for a little bit." I whisper.
"y/n you need to learn to love again, she's not going to leave you, please give her a chance." Claire says.
"I will try my best." I say.
"Anyways how's college?" Claire asks.
"It's okay, I'm doing fine and all and soccer is fun as always, it just feels boring, something's missing." I say.
"You've been taking your medications right?" Claire asks.
"Yes Claire all ten of them." I say. "What a great older sister you are."
"I think you should come home soon." Claire says hesitantly.
"Carl and Ava are not my parents anymore Claire, after they beat me and broke Andy and I up." I say gripping the steering wheel tightly.
"Not for them y/n for Andy's mom... she's got stage four brain cancer." She says. With the news I slam the breaks.
"SHIT" Hailee says. I turn and look at her and she blood streaming down her face and a gash on her forehead. Her head hit the dashboard.
"Oh fuck I am so sorry baby." I say quickly taking off my flannel and folding it for her to place it on her head.
"y/n what happened?!" Claire asks alarmed.
"Nothing I hit the breaks really hard and Hailee hit her head on the dashboard. I will call you back I am taking her to the emergency room." I say hanging up.
"y/n I am okay I don't need to go." Hailee says.
"Woman if you want to go back to my apartment we are stopping at the emergency room first." I say and she smiles. I give her a quick kiss on the cheek and I start driving again. When we get to the emergency room I quickly park and run out my truck and I pick up Hailee and run inside.
"Help my uh girlfriend hit her head and is bleeding." I say rambling.
They get us a room and I made sure a plastic surgeon would be suturing Hailee's head. Five stitches later she was done and I still felt horrible. We were walking back to my truck and Hailee snaked her hand into mine.
"So girlfriend?" Hailee says.
"Uh I uh didn't mean to say that I mean I want to ask is it too early... I don't want to rush things because I like you and I don't want to fuck up like I always do" I say rambling and to my surprise she cuts me off with a sweet kiss.
"Ask me." Hailee says looking up at me.
"Okay uh Hailee will you be my girlfriend." I say very fast.
"Yes of course y/n." She says. "Now take me home to your apartment! I am tired."
"Okay baby, I am so sorry about your head." I say. I start driving to my apartment and ten minutes later we arrive.
