I just wanted Caleb and I to be friends, and more than friends, but I've fucked up.

God why am I so stupid?

We were outside in the lake canoeing. Of course Caleb and I are seated with each other. Can this get any worse? I shouldn't jinx it.

"Psh...." I tried to get Calebs attention. But he just ignore me. "Hey, I'm sorry about earlier, please forgive me. I do want to be your friend but I also want to have other friends." I said sighing. But truth be told, I really didn't want to be their friends. I just hung around with them so that I wouldn't be a lonely loser kid. But in reality I just wanted to hold Caleb close and kiss his face. I just wanted to be there for him.

"I'm sorry but I don't know why you are trying so hard, you have friends and that's all it matter now if you were kind to leave me along please do so." Caleb said a bit harshly.

"If that's what you want then I'll do as you say, nice meeting you." I said frowning.

Caleb gave me a sad look then looked ahead of him, paying attention to the camp teacher.

I just zoned out for a few moments and I was brought back by the canoe jerk forward.

"A little heads up would be nice?" I said at Caleb.

"Well jeez sorry." He said paddling.

What am I getting myself into?

"Ughh where are we going?" I said wiping the sweat off my forehead.

"Well if you'd pay attention, we have to go across the lake and wait for the camp leaders to tell us what's next." He sassing me. (Is sassing a real word?)

"Wow, um okay. Well lead us and I'll pay attention next time." I said. Caleb nodded his head and lead us in the direction that we needed to go in.

We made it to the small island across from our campsite. Caleb and I were the first ones there so we left the canoe near the shore and we sat on the sand, waiting for the others.

"Look, I'm sorry. I really fucking am, but I can't help it. I just don't want to be that sad, lonely, gay kid anymore." I said moving closer to Caleb, not knowing that I basically had come out to him, placing one of my hands on his thigh. His body went stiff.

"Can you please stop. I don't want anything to do with you anymore. I'm sorry. But I mean it." Caleb said removing my hand from his thigh and stood up.

"Okay. I'll respect your decision." I said standing up as well, removing the sand from my shorts.

A few minutes later everyone seemed to come here.

"Oh wow look who's here first!" Our camp teacher said way to happily. Well since you both gotten here first, you guys get an advantage when ever you need one. But remember that you only have 5." He said looking at both Caleb and I. We nodded and he continued. "Okay, so today we're going to do a scavenger hunt. here's a list of the things you need to find and once you find all of them, don't worry, we made one thing per group, and you show us then you get to go back to the campsite and eat dinner!" Our teacher said handing all of us the list.

It was a short list, with 7 different things.
1. It's in your canoe to keep you a float.
2. You use this to navigate when lost.
3. You place this on your face so you can block out the sun.
4. What birds lay.
5. Has eggs inside it.
6. Your canoeing partner.
7. You put this on your face so you don't get burned.

This should be easy.

I looked at Caleb, then at the forest. He tooked the hint and headed to the woods near the beach. I quickly ran to the canoes and grabbed the sunscreen, the compass, a life jacket and a pair of sunglasses.

After a a minute or so Caleb came out and he had the nest and the eggs, we quickly ran to the scout master and he blew the whistle.

"Okay guys come back because we have a winner!!" He yelled.

Did he really have to do this?

As everyone came back he held every thing up and said that we could all go back to the camp and eat.

I silently thanked him and got back into the canoe, waiting for Caleb so that he can take us back.

"Ready?" I asked placing my hands around the canoe. He nodded and I pushed the canoe out of the sand and into the water, obviously getting my feet wet while doing so. By the time I got in Caleb was facing forward but I still said it. "Hey great job at finding the eggs and the nest."

He looked back at me and made a small smile. "You too." He said then turned away leading us back to the camp.

We made it back to camp and I got out and pulled the canoe up fathers from the water but it was still in the rocks near us. Then the reat of the people came and Caleb left when I turned around looking for him. My smile faded and I went to go eat dinner with my 'friends'.

A/N Woo! Link's p.o.v is over! I really hope you enjoyed this small stupid chapter. But yea.
