Weird Sunday

Today feels weird. It was a normal Sunday. I was getting ready to go to Mike's house and meet up with the party.

I don't know what it was but I just had a bad feeling about today.

My parents were out of town again. Surprising right?

Today I decided to dress a little more comfortably. I was told today was going to be a long campaign so I know I'll be at Mike's for more than 8 hours.

I slipped on a fuzzy brown and blue striped sweater, I paired it with some black jeans and my beat-up converse. I lastly put on my watch that I always have on.

As I head towards the door, I grabbed some money from the cookie jar so I can buy snacks for the party at the gas station.

I bike to the store and grab chips and candy for each of my best friends. They all like different things so the bill was a whopping $6.76. But it was well worth it.

I finally make it to the Wheeler residence. I knocked on the door and was greeted by Mrs.Wheeler.

"Penelope! Happy to see you. The boys are downstairs waiting for you,"

"Thank you, Mrs. Wheeler, sorry I know I'm late. They're really impatient when it comes to D&D,"

Walking over to the basement I spot holly on the floor playing with her toys.

"Hi Holly, I got you a snickers bar, but don't let your mom see okay?" I whispered to the little girl.

She took the candy and gave me a giant hug. As she pulled away she brought her finger to her lips and said "shhh,"

When I reached the bottom of the stairs the boys all stared at me, impatience seeping out of their eyes.

"Jesus Penny where the hell were you, we've been waiting for 10 minutes! We thought you died or something, you're never late." Mike scolded.

"I'm so sorry master Mike, I was being a nice friend and I bought everyone snacks from the store. I'll just eat yours then if you're gonna act like an ass." I retorted.

"Okay, okay, sorry we were just worried," Mike said while looking down at the table.

I walk over to the table and start to hand out the snacks.

" This is for you Dusty ass, for you Lucas mucas, I know you're gonna love this one wet Willy, and this my good sir is for Mike Kunt," I earned a smile from each boy and they all said thank you, simultaneously.

"Let's start this shit boys,"

"What is it?" Will asked

We've been playing D&D for hours, I don't know what time is it anymore.

"What if it's the Demogorgon? We're in deep shit if it's the Demogorgon." Dustin said.

"Shit, shit we're screwed. We're screwed I tell ya!" I scrunched my hair in my hands and laid my elbows on the table. This game is so intense.

"It's not the Demogorgon," Lucas cut in.

"An army of Troglodytes charge intothe chamber!" Mike exclaimed.

"Their tails drum the floor. Boom!Boom! Boom!"

I loved when Mike was the leader of the campaigns. He gets so into his role, it's like its not even Mike anymore.

"Troglodytes?!" Dustin said, confused.

"Toldja." said Lucas, with a sly smile.

Mike looks over his shoulder, with a scared look on his face he said, "Wait... do you hear that? Boom!Boom! BOOM! That sound... itdidn't come from the Troglodytes. No. It came from something else..."
