TWINS, TWO LITTLE GIRLS.

They were beautiful and looked identical. It was almost impossible to identify either correctly. Hence, Emily always dressed one in blue and the other in pink. She watched them sleep peacefully and how their little pink fingers curled up in a tiny fist. She laughed as she gazed at their cute idiosyncrasies.

Complete joy would she have experienced if James were alive to see his lovely girls. However, he would be somewhat disappointed. He always wished for the baby to be a boy so he could teach him martial arts he learnt from his uncle.

Unfortunately, the day the pre-natal scan showed she was carrying two girls in her uterus was the same day he died in a robbery attack at the warehouse where he worked. Her heart plunged into sorrow that day once again. She hadn't figured out her life yet, and she needed James by her side more than ever. Now that he's dead, she could not help but wonder what the future held for her and her daughters.

After weaning them, she would have to resume back to her job as a cook. "An ordinary cook", her life should be far better than that: A husband, kids, luxury, she could have it all if she dared enough to make the right choice.
Apparently, it was too late now.

For someone's happiness, she sacrificed her's. She chose misery and threw love away; she turned her back on her desires and deprived herself of marrying the love of her life. Poor James knew she married him out of hopelessness rather than love, yet he cared for her still. His loyalty and the way he displayed the essence of true friendship would forever be in her memory. He tried to give them all the very best and make sure they had a better life even though he was a mere security guard.

She kissed their foreheads gently and blew out the candle.
