I was pacing back back and forth, deciding to tell Delilah's younger cousin what happened to her. I ran up to Dean and his sidekicks. I poked him in back, hardly. "what the heck Olivia?" he growled. "I-I saw.. Delilah's.. c-cousin." I forced out. He grabbed my arm and pulled me away from everyone, with Joseph and Mike following. I glanced over to see Tiffany looking worried. I gave her a weak smile and signaled i was alright. I was physically, but maybe not mentally. "what do we do." Joseph asked, calmly. "We should talk to her, make sure she is your dead friends cousin." Mike said while trying to keep in a laugh. "this. is. not. Funny. Mike." I sneaked. "We should tell her the truth, well most of it." I continued. "no way-" I cut him off by disagreeing, "yes way. She deserves the truth. We could just tell her that we were going on a hike and I trip on something, and guess what. boom! it was Delilah!" I smiled at myself. This is a great plan. Dean ran his hand through his dark brown hair while Joseph just looked concerned. Mike was just his.. un-normal self. "What- its a good idea!" I whispered loudly. "Sure- but we need to go over some-" Before he could finish, i sprinted to Little Delilah.
"hey, your Delilah's cousin.. and roommate?" I asked calmly. "yeah.. and who are you." she looked worried. "oh- i'm Delilah's friend." I showed her my pearly white teeth before holding out my hand. She took it and I brought her in for a hug. "I'm uh Olivia," I said when she didn't say anything. "Emily." Emily finally hugged me back. "I'm sorry." I whispered, sadly. "wh- what happened?" she asked. She frowned and now I felt bad. Dean could tell that i was about to cry to he walked over and put his hand on my shoulder. "what are you doing." I mumbled to him. "helping." He smirked. "Your- friend. I mean cousin, sally passed away." He looked down at his shoes, trying not laugh. I hit his arm and said, "dean." I sighed, "We were going on a hiking trail.. and I- tripped over something. When I looked d-down.. I saw- Del. I screamed- there was blood- e-everywhere. We didn't know what to do, so we buried her and gave her a proper funeral. i'm so so s-sorry.." I am such a good actor. Well most of it was the truth, I did scream, I tripped over the knife, not a body. There was blood. So I technically wasn't lying. I don't grieve well.. Dean looked at me, with pity in his eyes. "stop." I mumbled. "what?" He asked softly. "pitying me." I looked away and a tear drop fell down my eye. Emily was crying, trying not to make a noice. I rubbed her back and picked her up bridal style. I didn't want anyone to see, especially the adults. I have no plan for what to do now.
We went back to my cabin. The boys were following close behind. "no boys aloud," I winked and I opened the door to the cabin, shutting it close on them. I could hear them talking about something from the outside. I placed emily on the bed and sat next to her. "How old are you?" I asked carefully, trying not to ask the wrong questions.
"I just turned 14 last week." Her voice cracked and a tear rolled down her cheek. "Hey, its okay, its going to be okay. I will help you through this. I'm 16 years old." I tried to smile but ended up having a weird curve on my mouth. "your hurting too." She said while turning her head to analyze me. I sniffled and answered, "yes. She was one of my best friends. It hurts, but I'm going to be strong. For you, dean and his sidekicks." I don't know why i'm telling her this, but I need to get it off my chest.
We just stayed in my room, talking until she finally fell asleep in my arms.
*Deans POV*
Olivia locked us out of the cabin. stupid. Mike and Joseph were sitting on rocks with there heads down. I need to hear what she is saying. I wish she never got involved. I had it handled. She cant do this by herself, I want to help, I just don't know how to. I tiptoed around to the side of the Cabin. I saw a light on the second floor. Emily and Olivia. I thought to myself.
There was a tree near the window. I could climb it, but if i fall, they will notice me.. but I'm willing to that that risk.
I slowly and steadily gripped on to the brown oak branches. This is a bad idea.
Once i finally got to the top of the tree. I peaked into the window, trying to get a good view. I glanced down at the ground and saw my friends giving me and 'What the hell are you doing?' kind of look. I ignored them and looked back. I saw Emily fast asleep while Olivia was crying. I knew that Delilah was her friend, but I didn't think they were this close. Hopefully she can forgive me so we can work together and find the one who set it up. Okay. I need to breathe. My foot suddenly slipped- and thats when I knew that I... messed up.
