3 year old Hot shot lived with his mother and father. He was a happy healthy child they were currently living in Maine. His father was a firefighter and his mother was a pediatric nurse. They were very happy living in Maine. However. Heatwave his father was offered to work at another fire station. "This will be a great opportunity." Heatwave said.

"Yes and I talked to my boss and he said he was going to transfer me to the best children's hospital in the city where you have been offered the job." Hightemp said.

"Now we must talk to Hot shot about this," Heatwave said.

They came up to Hot shot who was playing. "Hot shot your mother and I want to talk to you about something," Heatwave said.

"What is it?" Hot shot asked.

"I got offered to work at another firehouse," Heatwave said.

"Okay," Hot shot said.

"Well the thing is Hot shot the thing is the new firehouse is in another state," Heatwave said.

"So we are moving," Hightemp said.

"Moving?" Hot shot said. "What about my things?" he asked.

"We are going to pack our things in boxes and take them with us," Hightemp said.

"What about my daycare friends?" Hot shot asked.

"We will say good bye to them and then we will come and visit sometimes," Heatwave said.

"But I love it here in Maine!" Hot shot said crying and hugged his parents.

Soon they were getting ready to move. "What state are we moving too?" Hot shot asked.

Heatwave pulled up a map with the stated labeled out and shown. "We are moving to Kansas it is in the Midwest, the city we will be living in is Overland Park." Heatwave said.

It was neat at the thought of living in another state. They started to pack and get ready to go. Hot shot was sad and scared and also kind of excited. They packed the truck and headed out to their new home. It was a long drive from their old home Maine to their new home.

"Are we almost there?" Hot shot asked.

"No Hot shot we still have quite a ways to go." Heatwave said.

"So try to relax sweetie we will be there before you know it," Hightemp said.

There was much to see during the trip and the made some stops. They stopped for gas, to use the bathroom, stay at hotels or motels, and to get food. There were also some interesting sights as well. Hot shot was wondering what the new house looked like.

Then after a few days they made it to the state of Kansas. "Are we our new house yet?" Hot shot asked.

"No but we are finally in Kansas son," Heatwave said.

"Cool," Hot shot said.

"There is still a ways to go before we make it to Overland Park," Heatwave said. "There is much to see here in Kansas," he said.

"I hope I make so new friends when I get there," Hot shot said.

"We hope so too son," Hightemp said.

After a couple of more days Hot shot was starting to get impatient. "Are we almost there?" Hot shot asked.

"We are now in Overland Park and in about 15 more minutes we will be at the new house." Heatwave said.

"Oh boy," Hot shot said.

Hot shot was hoping to see his new home soon. Then after several minutes they made it to a neighborhood. They stopped at a red brick house with a green door. "Hot shot this is our new home," Heatwave said.

"Look at it," Hightemp said.

"Wow," Hot shot said.

The moving truck came up. Now things were getting unpacked. Soon Hot shot's room was set up. They even met many of the new neighbors. Heatwave met the other firefighters at the firehouse and Hightemp started to work at the Children's Mercy South Hospital which was the children's hospital she was transferred to by her boss when Heatwave got transferred to his new job at the firehouse in the state by his boss when the opportunity came for him.

Hot shot also got to know some of the fire fighters and the other first responders his parents worked with and a few of them were old childhood friends of his father. "Oh Hot shot last time we saw you, you were baby." Blades said.

"Yes he's a big boy now," Heatwave said.

Then a few months later Hot shot became a big brother to a little brother named Side swipe who was born shortly after the move.

Hot shot soon noticed that things in Kansas were a little different than things were in Maine. Like the climate, the weather and the average temperature during the seasons. Kansas had many different things, different people, different places to see and different things to do. It all took sometime to get used too. He was a little nervous about it but he started to take it all in stride and started to become curious about his new home.

Hot shot was soon going to school there in Overland Park Kansas and he made friends with four other children who lived in town. Their names were Wedge Shoveler, Medix Redden, Hoist Towver and Whirl Windal, Whirl was the only girl in the group. He was wondering what awaited for him there as he grew.

Hot shot's adventures had just begun.
