3rd Person / Carlos' POV

Carlos Sainz, being a Formula 1 driver, is very competitive and sometimes jealous towards those closest to him. After switching to Scuderia Ferrari, he found himself with an improved car, a talented teammate and what seemed to be at first to be a better strategy. He of course enjoys all of these factors which can help him compete to win Grand Prixs and possibly a future World Championship but something just seems missing this season. As though the thing is there but not how it used to be. You can't see it anymore. Its transparent.Despite the empty sensation that is surrounding him on this sweltering day, he decides not to ponder upon what may be causing it and go on with his busy Thursday.

It is mid Friday morning when he drives into the packed parking lot the first free practise. Free practises are a great opportunity to see the conditions for the qualifying session the following day but are mainly useful to practise for the main race. This weekend is at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (the Belgian Circuit). This circuit is considered a risky one by many. Carlos likes this circuit but his friend Anthoine Hubert sadly died here a few years previous, causing it to be somewhat an emotional circuit for the Spaniard. Luckily, Carlos feels better than he did yesterday, possibly due to the adrenaline coursing through his body like a cyber electric current, but this feeling is obviously expected before driving a
220mph race car.

Exiting his scarlet Ferrari 296 GTB, Carlos begins to head towards the entrance of the circuit. For the first time in the past few days, he finally allows his mind to wonder off. Firstly he rejoices on his podium last week. P3 wasn't really that terrible although he was predicted atleast P2. Next Anthoine Hubert pops into his mind and how heartbreaking the talented mans passing was. Not wanting to kill his own mood, he swiftly switches the topic of his thoughts to the other drivers.

Most of the time his thoughts are filled with one younger man in particular. Lando Norris, his British ex-teammate and really close friend. He has been achieving points and has been showing off his skills in the past several races of the season, which the elder is really proud of him for. Carlos misses being on a team with Lando a great amount, and so do the fans miss them together, but Daniel Ricciardo seems to be a pretty decent match for Lando as well. Maybe too much of a good match.

Later that day after the first two practises, the drivers and people on their teams are all talking to eachother in the paddock. Carlos, who has only just re-entered the main place after relaxing in his motor home for a bit, first spots Seb and Fernando Laughing with various people from both of their teams, he then notices Charles talking Binotto ( their team principal) and then he finally focuses on the loud Aussie of the group and his ex-teammate chatting to each other. It seems that Daniel has said something which must be really hilarious as the Brit is now crouched down on the floor, holding it with one hand whilst the other holds his own head as the loudest laughter flows out of his mouth.

Having to distract himself from the scene before he gets to curious on the laughing matter, Carlos walks towards Charles who is now on his own and then greets him with a pat on the back. As the conversation with the Spaniard's current teammate progresses, Carlos can't help but glance over every few minutes at the McLaren pair. Currently they are sat on a bench whilst they talk to George Russell and Alex Albon who are stood in-front of them. Daniel's arm is around the younger mans shoulders as he rests his head contently on the top of Daniel's shoulder. This shouldn't make the Spaniard's blood boil the way it does but he can't help it.

Noticing that he has stopped listening to what he had been discussing, Charles looks in the direction that Carlos was staring in. Carlos' expression was an obvious mix between sadness and fury. Sensing eyes on him, Lando had now looked away from George and Alex, his hazel eyes meeting chocolate brown. The look on the others face was confusing to the Brit. It was almost as if it was a look of jealousy. After raising his eyebrow at Carlos, giving him a questioning look, he received nothing in return as Carlos began to walk away from the paddock.

"Hey, mate! What's up?"Charles asked Carlos as he began to abruptly walk away.
To which the chilli bitterly snapped back at the fellow ferrari driver, "Don't you think those two are a bit too close of a pair?"
