Kamo
Me: Babe if you do not come out now. I heard a crashing sound and I ran to his study to find him clenching his heart and the phone ringing. I ran to the phone and hysterical Lisa was on the other end. I hung up and called my mother.
Me: mom
Mom: I know , i know baby just let him be.
Me: and lizwe?
Mom: am on my way to him.
I hang up and brushed his head while he closed his eyes like his in a slumber.
Alutha
I got out of the room to find an old woman with grey hair standing by the kitchen having tea. I looked around and she smiled at me.
Me: Hi?
I was in a long pj pants and top.
Her: Alutha
She smiled wider and walked around hugging me.
Kalechi
I saw her whole past and the scars she had on her body and the burden and pain she carried with her. I held her tighter healing her.
Alutha
I felt at ease and i felt my heavy heart go light again. She let go and moves to the counter.
Her: Have a seat dear.
I sat down as she passed something that looked like tea but I drank it.
Her: Grandma Kalechi
Me: Zwakhe grandma?
Grandma: Yep
Me: I see
She looked at me and smiled.
Grandma: How you feeling?
Me: Nervous but good.
Grandma: that understandable, not really common for a grandma to meet the intended before marriage.
I felt myself go uncomfortable but her smile calmed me.
Me: Is Zwakhe okay?
Grandma: His out for a while, am just here to make sure you don't feel stranded and for us to talk.
Me: Talk?
Grandma: yes
I felt my nerves go up again.
Me: About?
Grandma: The man you are about to spend the rest of your life with. I looked at her and the conviction she had scared me but she just smiled at me giving me that sense of being loved and safe. And she sat right next to me and looked at me.
Grandma: We find love when we least expect it. Am not going to sugar coat things for you. My grandson was a ladies man from the day he was born. He has so much love and is the life of the party. His full of charisma and always jokes around but ever since you have popped up iv noticed a sense of doubt in him. He doubts himself and if he will ever be good enough for you. He questions himself if he will love you the way that you want to be loved. Am not going to sit here and sell you roses but I want you to know that you are a part of us. There is nothing that can stop us from loving you as our own. To us you are as beautiful as the sun with all your scars and all that you been through. To us we see you as a conqueror, a warrior that have won many battles that other people have given in too. To us you are the sister, daughter and in my grandson case wife that we have been praying for. So stop doubting yourself and let us in. But mostly let him in, cause if his happy. Than we are happy too.
I felt my whole body go light and tears rolling down my face. How can they just accept me just like that with my history and all that iv been subjected too. How can they just love me when I have no more love to give. How can they just accept me as I come with nothing but trauma.
She hugged me and I hugged her back absorbing the light that she was passing to me....
