Chapter 1

"Cara is he gone forever." my brother Sam whimpered.

"I'm not sure. But we have to move on if he is. Okay?" I replied trying to stay strong. My dad was the only family I loved besides Sam. My mom only cares about herself, my cousins are all stupid and immature, and all my other relatives hate me. As thoughts piled up in my head I wondered if I'd ever love again.

And on top of all this, school starts tomorrow.

"Cara. Are you okay?"

"OMG, Cara what happened?"

Endless questions bombarded me as I broke down in front of my friends Perrie and Ally I gathered all my strength and told them the entire story.
"Shit, I'm gonna be late." I said under my breath. I quickly walked to my class with my head down, so people wouldn't see my tear streaked face. I was almost to my class when I bumped into someone. I slowly looked up and realized that it was Conner my friend since like forever.
"Sorry Cara. Wait, were you crying." He said concern filling his voice.
"I'll tell you in class." I said quietly as we walked to class together. The class was chaotic the first thing I noticed was the paper balls being thrown around the room.
"What in the world is this!"
I glanced at the door and saw our teacher Miss Tomek.
"Get in your seats and open your books to page 209.

I was quickly doing the assigned questions when my phone screen lit up. I pushed my light brown hair from my eyes and looked at the screen seeing what it was.
Conner the Sassy💁: hey wanna get lunch after school
Me: sure
Conner the Sassy💁: where do u wanna go
Me: idk you?
Conner the Sassy💁: lettuce just go to the mall
Me:Kk
I quickly turned off my phone before the teacher could see. In the last five minutes of school I raced through my work and finished right before dismissal.

"Sooooo you still haven't told me what happened." Conner said impatiently.
"My dad left yesterday."
"Shit, I didn't know it was that serious. But then if you told me I could've just brought you straight home so we could watch Netflix and eat pizza."
I laughed at his reaction to the situation. Netflix and pizza, he knows me so well. That's when my phone rang...
