Ronnie rushed through the halls of Rosewood high, she had forgotten her scrunchie in the locker room and needed it to keep her hair out of her face for cheer practice. In usual Ronnie fashion, the girl wasn't paying much attention to what was around her, she knew the way from the field to the girls' locker room by heart and with the cheerleaders being the only club or team to still be practicing at this time she didn't think she would run into anyone, Especially not Toby Cavanaugh.
Yet here she was staring up at him. She'd managed to stop before she crashed right into him, but she was still less than a foot in front of her. Ronnie opened her mouth to say something but she didn't know what to say. The door to the locker room was just on the other side of Toby, maybe she didn't have to say anything, she could just go around him. "I - excuse me," Ronnie ended up stammering out as she moved to step around Toby.
Toby grabbed Ronnie's wrist as she brushed past him, causing her to look back up at him. "Can we talk?" Toby asked.
"I, I have to get back to cheer practice," Ronnie said, looking down at her feet, if she kept looking at him, she would agree and she knew she shouldn't not right now.
"Please," Toby said.
Ronnie opened her mouth again, but before she could say anything she heard the sound of someone in distress. she couldn't hear the exact thing being said, but she knew they were in distress and she knew that voice. "Emily," Ronnie said, pulling her arm out of Toby's grip and pushing the Locker room door open.
The sound of Emily crying no got louder as the door opened. Emily was attempting to get her boyfriend, Ben, off of her. Toby jumped into action before Ronnie could even fully comprehend what exactly was happening before her. Toby pushed Ben away from Toby smashing him against the row of lockers. Ben elbowed Toby in the face. "Stop it," Emily yelled at the pair, freaked out by the events unfolding in front of her.
Toby punched Ben in the face, and Ronnie grabbed Emily, pulling her away from the two boys as they continued to fight. Toby got the upper hand and pushed Ben against the wall. "That's enough! Okay? Stop," Emily yelled again.
"Is this creep a friend of yours? Is he the reason you're acting like this?" Ben asked Emily, his mouth filled with blood from Toby punching him.
Ben, get over yourself, okay?" Emily said, back bewildered by Ben's reaction.
