She turns back and see half of Nancy's body crawling in a tree. She curses, drops her bag, and goes to follow. Once she's in, she looks around until she spots Nancy staring at something in the distance. She runs over carefully and covers the girl's mouth before she could make a sound.

"Be absolutely silent." she whispers in her ear, the brunette nods.

They walk back carefully then Nancy steps on a twig, causing the creature to snap his head back around to them. Nancy screams as it opens its face, alerting Jonathan in the real world.

"Go go go!" Rose yells, pushing the younger in front of her.

"Follow my voice!" they can hear Jonathan vaguely shouting.

"That helps." she says, grabbing Nancy's wrist.

Rose sees the tree and pushes Nancy towards it.

"Run Nance!" she yells.

"Rose, what are you doing?!" the younger yells, turning back around.

"I'll meet you at your house!" she says. "Go!"

Rose veers off to the other direction, causing the creature to leave Nancy alone and follow.

"That's it, I'm the one you want!" she yells.

She whistles, trying to keep any and all attention off of Nancy, and runs towards the Byers residence. She gets to the tree she got out those two years ago and turns to face the creature.

"Hey bud." she says, her hand getting engulfed in flames. "I don't appreciate you messing with my family."

It roars and tries to get closer to her but she turns the flame on it, scaring it off. She breathes out and looks at the tree.

Alright, let's see if you can open this Rose

She puts her hand against the trunk of the tree and closes her eyes. The rift slowly starts appearing as the wood splits in half. She pushes all her energy into the tree, making the rift just big enough to walk through instead of crawl. She opens her eyes and smiles at her work, quickly going through before it closes.

"Holy shit." she laughs through shallow breath.

She starts stumbling through the woods until she gets to her house.

If my powers don't kill me, Nancy will, she thinks to herself as she climbs into her bedroom window.

"And we will get all of them out." she hears Jonathan say as she's climbing on the Wheeler's roof to Nancy's window.

She slept at her own house so she could take a shower and get changed in peace without them questioning if she was okay. She was wearing black jeans and yet another stolen tank top that was just plain black. She was also wearing fingerless gloves that went down far enough to cover the tattoo.

"We have to find it again." Nancy says.

"You wanna go back out there?" he asks.

"You don't have to." Rose says, opening the window and climbing in, immediately getting hugged by her brother. "Nance, when we saw it, it was feeding on that deer, meaning it's a predator, right?"

"Right." she answers, hugging the older girl.

"And it seems to hunt at night, like a... a lion or coyote." Rose says, pacing a bit after Jonathan lets her go. "But it doesn't hunt in packs like them. It's always alone, like... like a bear. And remember at Harrington's when Barb cut herself? And then last night, the deer..."
