Rose wakes up in a room she recognizes but not her own. She's in the Harrington's guest bedroom. She smiles, shaking her head, before walking over to the closet where her spare clothes are.
A knock comes at the door as soon as she's done getting into a blue sweater and black jeans.
"Hey Stevie." she smiles as he opens the door.
"Hey." he says. "Want to go grab your car before Hopper finds it then we'll meet at school?"
"Yeah, we should probably do that." she says, standing up from the bed after tying the laces of her boots.
The two walked downstairs then headed out to his car.
"So..." he hums as he starts driving.
"So?" she asks, looking over to him.
"Two things actually." he says. "First off, are you staying with me for a while or are you going home tonight?"
"We'll see." she responds. "I'm going to check on Will after school at the middle school since I think they have an AV meeting today."
"Alright. Second thing." he nods. "Thirteen? Nancy kind of called you that while ranting in the bathroom."
Rose closes her eyes and chuckles a bit.
"Right, I guess they never told you anything since you didn't actually meet El." she says. "Hawkins Lab took 'special' children with abilities and experimented on them. I was number thirteen, the last hopefully."
"What- what kind of experiments?" he asks timidly.
"Semi torture." she shrugs nonchalantly. "I definitely didn't get it as bad as Eleven did but I was shoved into the Upside Down when I was ten years old so that was kind of shit but, y'know."
"No." he says, making her laugh. "No, I don't know. Rosie, have I told you how much of a badass you are?"
"Every day since I woke up from that coma Stevie." she laughs.
"Well you're such a badass Rose Brenner." he says.
"Says the boy with a baseball bat with nails in it in his trunk." she says as they pull up to her car. "Meet you at school Harrington."
"See you Brenner." he says as she steps out.
He drives off as she walks over to her car. There's a note under the windshield wipers that she takes before climbing in the driver's seat.

The girl shakes her head and puts the note in the other seat before heading to school. She parks beside Steve's car when she gets there and gets out to join him leaning on his car.
"Pouting Harrington?" she laughs as she walks over. "You only left me for ten minutes."
He smiles but then goes back to how he was before.
"Stevie?" she asks. "You alright?"
"Uh, yeah." he says as they start walking to the school. "I think I'm going to confront Nancy about last night."
She nods as they get to her locker.
"That's fair." she says. "You deserve an explanation after everything."
"I'll tell you how it goes after school probably." he says as they start walking to class.
TIME SKIP
"So I talked to Nancy." Steve says, leaning against the locker beside Rose's after school ends.
"What did she say?" she asked before closing the locker and looking to him. "Shit, what did she say Stevie?"
"She doesn't remember any of it!" he sighs. "So I took the benefit of the doubt and I asked her if she loved me... and she couldn't even say it."
"Aw, Steve." she says, hugging him. "How about this? After I go check on Will, I'll go back to your house and we'll have a movie marathon. We'll eat ice cream and you can scream your heart out, alright?"
He smiles as he lets go of the hug and walks off, waving to her.
"So Wheeler's cheating on Harrington with a Byers and Harrington's cheating on Wheeler with another Byers, huh?"
Rose turns around and comes face to face with Billy Hargrove himself.
"Um, one, not a Byers." she says. "And two, I'm not with Steve, I'm just his friend. Also, what do you mean Wheeler's cheating cause I will kill a bitch, I don't care if I'm her friend."
"You didn't know?" he says. "Wheeler and your brother ditched school earlier today. Together."
Her head starts pounding a bit and she turns around.
Will is in trouble and I can't help him
El?
"Fuck, I don't have time for this." she says, walking away. "Thanks for letting me know, I'll take Max home since I'm going over to the middle school anyways."
She starts running to the middle school, closing her eyes to try and contact Eleven.
El, where is he?
Field
She runs out to the field and sees the party plus Max Mayfield trying to shake Will awake. She pushes Mike out of the way and grabs his shoulder, which were ice cold, before being flung back towards the school.
"Rose!" Lucas and Max both yell.
