"Maybe it would help if you made a list of all the new things you can do," Lyana suggested to Keefe. Sitting in a circle on the floor in the training room were her, Phoenix, Cloud, Keefe, Dex, and whoever that other guy was, with teal eyes.

"It's not like I actually know what they are," he said, rubbing his forehead.

Phoenix stood up and went over to the big blackboard that no one had bothered to move out, picking up a piece of chalk. "Pick something and describe it."

"Um, okay..." He fiddled with his hands, looking at the floor. "Well, emotions are stronger, like, way stronger. And you know how head and heart emotions are different?"

Phoenix waved the chalk in the air. "Yeah, yeah. I know empathy theory. I've read The Heart Of The Matter. You're not the only Empath around here. You don't have to explain it."

He blanched. "Right. Anyway, I sense heart emotions way more often than head emotions, and it used to be the other way around." His eyebrows knit together. "It's pretty weird, honestly."

"Okay. That's something." She turned to the chalkboard and scribbled head/heart reversal. "What else?"

"The commands thing," Dex murmured, and Keefe nodded.

"Yeah, I can command people to do things for some reason." Phoenix added that to the list. They continued naming off his new powers. Ability detecting. Manifested as a Polyglot. Enhanced empathy senses.

"Dex and I were thinking... since I can tell what ability someone has," Keefe said, looking somewhat nervous, "could I use a command to take it away?"

Lyana's eyebrows shot up. "That's one heck of a theory."

Phoenix looked thoughtful. "I mean, it's definitely possible. That sounds like a very Gisela thing to do, right?" That didn't make Keefe feel any better.

"Okay, what is she doing?" Fitz blurted, pointing to Cloud, who was rolling on the floor outside their sort of-circle, singing quietly under her breath.

"We don't ever know, okay?" Phoenix said exasperatedly. "Remind me who you are again and why you're here?"

Fitz looked highly offended. "I'm Fitz. Fitz Vacker."

She blinked. "Am I supposed to know who that is?"

Dex snorted.

"You don't know who the Vackers are?"

"Of course I know who the Vackers are. I've just never heard of you."

Cloud raised her hand, her face pressed into the floor. "I know who he is."

"Thank you," Fitz said with a sigh of relief.

She pushed herself up on her elbows. "Lyana was raised in the human world and Phoenix got booted to Exilium, so obviously they wouldn't know who you are. But I used to pass you in the halls every day. Y'know, before Foxfire got shut down." She scowled. "Thanks to the Moonlark and all of you guys, I never got to finish the elite levels."

Keefe, Fitz, and Dex all decided suddenly that the floor was really interesting.

"I feel like you should remember him, though, Phoenix; given that he's BFFs with Sencen and all."

Phoenix's brows knit together. Keefe returned his attention to her.

"Back the T-rex up. Are you Phoenix Kolster?"

"Yeah," she mumbled, rubbing her arm awkwardly.

His jaw dropped about a foot. "What? How come you didn't say anything before?"
