The wind blows and my legs shiver from the cold of wearing a uniform skirt in November. I lean against the front gates of the school with my arms crossed, waiting for Sunwoo who's late as usual.

"Sorry," I hear his voice, running over.

"Hey." I say, when he stops in front of me. I look up at his red hair, blowing in the wind. His dark roots are just growing back, and I take a last glance at his straight dark eyebrows which I seem to have missed a little bit.

"How you holding up?" Sunwoo asks.

"I'm fine." I tell him.

"Did your mom ask what happened?" He asks.

"I'm actually staying at Jacob's apartment."

"Oh really?" Sunwoo raises an eyebrow.

"He has a girlfriend, Sunwoo. I'm not interested." I say.

"Who's the girlfriend?"

"Well, soon to be girlfriend."

"So there's still a chance." Sunwoo says.

"Did you bring it or not?" I frown at him.

"I'm just saying," he puts his hands in his pockets. "He seems like a nice guy. By that I mean a, desperate, lonesome, wannabe guitarist, guy. But still more decent than me."

I shake my head. "And that's why he deserves someone decent as well. which I suppose is this... Nayoung girl or whatever."

"Tch," Sunwoo moves my hair out of the way and pats some concealer on the spot on my neck. "Haven't had to do this in a while." he says.

I glance at him, and in close proximity I nearly forget that we're broken up. It's hard to look at him as just a friend when I've spent so many years wanting more. Sunwoo's eyes flicker to my lips as they always do when we're standing close.

But when we both pull away from each other I know that we made the right choice.

"er... let me know if you ever want to get lunch or something." Sunwoo sticks his hands in his pockets and we walk towards the hallway.

"Yeah. Sure, sometime." I answer. As soon as we open the doors I notice more people than usual staring at us walking. I narrow my eyes at the people whispering and glancing at me. "Why does this feel..." I drift off when Sunwoo looks equally confused.

I hear a locker slam and Chaeun saunters over to us.

"What the hell Jia?" She asks.

"Do you know why everyone's staring at me?" I ask her.

"How could you not tell me? I thought we were best friends!" She says.

"What?"

"That you were roofied. I found out from the freaking hallway gossip. You went M.I.A for like two days and I come back to this?? Random strangers knowing what happened and not me?" Chaeun says.
