Chapter 2) Family

a/n: Also, Verlaine is an oni with a slightly hotter than average body, while Rimbaud is an ice demon (He can't create ice, he can withstand un-human cold, however with a consequence that is always being cold) with his own abilities. Odasaku is a normal fox hybrid human, whatever u call it, with his own abilities. And Ango is a horse hybrid human, with his abilities.

"Chuuya! Want to come with me to the forest again?" Verlaine asked Chuuya while he was getting his stuff.

"Yes, but I don't want to get lost again." Chuuya answered while sitting at the table, starring back at his dad.

"What do you mean 'again'?" Rimbaud asked, concerned as he was not informed of the incident.

"Um.." Verlaine said, slightly worried about his future.

"I will not repeat myself, what do you mean by 'again'?" Rimbaud asked menacingly, having a small yellow cube on his left hand.

"Last week, me and Dad-"

"Dad and I." Rimbaud corrected.

"Dad and I," Chuuya said while smiling at his dad. "Went to the forest, but I saw a bird flapping its wings and stopped walking and got lost."

"And you didn't think to inform me on that?" 

"Well, trust me Randou, I was going to tell you, I swear-"

"But you didn't think to? But you didn't think I cared to? Because you didn't think I-"

"No no no, Randou, please calm down." Verlaine immediately hugged Rimbaud. 

"How can I calm down when I-achoo" Rimbaud said while sneezing, recently, he's been feeling even colder, which is ironic, seeing as how he is an ice demon. 

"Please, just calm down." Verlaine said while hugging Rimbaud to warm him up with his body heat, as he is slightly hotter than the average.

"I will talk about this with you later." Rimbaud said, pushing Verlaine away. "Chuuya, do you want to go with Father, or stay home with Papa?"

"Go with Father!" Chuuya excitedly said while running to Verlaine.

"Okay. Bye Randou." Verlaine said before kissing Rimbaud's lips.

"Don't you dare think I forgot about this."

"I won't."

Odasaku's fox tail and ears slightly moved, when Dazai jumped on him and Ango to wake them up.

"Dazai, don't wake up your dad, he needs to sleep." Odasaku whispered to Dazai.

"I heard that..." Ango said while sitting up facing them.

"Dad! You're awake!" Dazai said jumping on the bed.

"Now I am, wasn't before." Ango said, the last part he kept in his mind though.

"Papa, can I go with you to work?" Dazai asked with a smile not so genuine.

"What's up with that smile, I know you too well to know you're up to no good." Odasaku said while pulling Dazai's cheeks.

"Ow." Dazai said. "Nothing."

"Mm, I don't trust it, well nonetheless, you can still come." Odasaku said before kissing Ango's forehead and said, "Sleep."

"Okay.." Ango mumbled, pulling the sheets over him again.

"Come on." Odasaku whispered to Dazai.

Verlaine walked hand in hand with Chuuya, he slowly arrived to the building, he then told Chuuya, 

"Can you stay here and wait for me? I have to go do some paperwork, for about half an hour."

"Okay." Chuuya said while nodding at his father.

"Dazai, I have something to do first, can you go wait here for me?" Odasaku said to Dazai.

"Sure." Dazai said, not really minding it.

"Good, if anything goes wrong, call the staff, they'll know what to do." Odasaku said while looking at his watch.

Chuuya then started wander around the room. It was a lounge room, with big comfy sofas and bookshelves. He then sat at the sofa, and started to fidget with his hands, bored. Suddenly, the door creaked open. There stood Dazai.

"Why are you here?" Chuuya asked.

"Papa's work." Dazai replied.

"Huh. Same."

Dazai then proceeded to look around the room, then flipping through the books.

"What are you doing?" Chuuya asked curious

"Mind your own business."

"Rude."

He then started to rearrange the books, after he's done, the bookshelf turned and there was a secret passage.

"How'd you do that?" Chuuya asked.

"You coming or not?"
