Chapter 6) Falter

A/N: I haven't enjoyed writing this book for a while, I throughly enjoyed the angst.

"I don't know?"

"Boss send me a text....Hold." Odasaku said while looking at his phone. "I'm back, I'll handle her, you just get out of the cubes and escape, that's all you need to do."

"Really? What's the point of the mission anyways?" Verlaine said when he got through 7 layers.

"I don't know. Gotta go, bye."

According to Mori's orders, all they need to do now is to make it look like they failed to protect her, but how to do so, is a good question. 

Moreover, to do so without getting killed. He suddenly got a scene from his mind, him getting his head in a yellow cube, while the rest of his body fell. He immediately stopped, and took a step back, still with Dr Malusa in his hands.

Rimbaud appeared behind the corners, and made a cube right on his head, Odasaku immediately ducked. This pattern continued for a while, Odasaku kept getting scenes from the future and Rimbaud kept trying to trap him. 

This continued until Verlaine came. Rimbaud saw his face again, clearly this time. Seeing his face, he faltered. He thought to himself, 

It won't be such a big deal. After this mission, I'm done anyways. I'll just pretend nothing happened. I only have to take her and kept my identity a secret. That's all.

However, that moment of hesitation made an opening. Verlaine took his chance and Rimbaud got thrown to a wall by a huge piece of pavement and hit hard before he fell to the ground. 

"You didn't have to come." said Odasaku. "Why are you even here?"

"That bastard trapped me in that annoying squares of his, I'm getting revenge." said Verlaine before flying towards Rimbaud again. 

Rimbaud immediately got back up and made his defences,

Who would have known the only person capable of breaking down my walls physically and mentally was my husband.

For the rest of the fight, Rimbaud only defended which resulted in him getting very heavily hurt.

"I would reconsider your movements if I were you." Mori said through the line. 

He had definitely forgotten how cruel Verlaine was. He just thought that Rimbaud would reveal his identity and get a few scratches at most. Not at least 6 broken ribs, teared organs and tissues.  

"And why should I?" Verlaine said through the phone.

While Verlaine's attention was on the phone, Odasaku got a scene where he would grab Dr Malusa, which worked out perfectly. He just ignored the scene and unsurprisingly, Rimbaud came, grabbed her and ran out. 

"Tsk." Verlaine said annoyingly.

"Your revenge is not as important as my plan, besides it's not like he murdered your family." Mori said. He even made you a family.

Rimbaud got outside and went up to a car, dropped the woman off. The man, immediately put hand cuffs, blindfold and a piece of cloth around her mouth.

"Well hello to you too." The man said while looking at Rimbaud up and down.

"Shut up, Raphaël." 

"Need a hand?" Raphaël asked.

"No." Rimbaud said while limping away.

Dazai got up to the vent and so did Chuuya. They snuck around the vent, hearing conversations that could cost their lives. 

"Where are we even going?" Chuuya asked. 

"Out of here."

They then went to a cave, in which Chuuya tried to initiate conversation while Dazai just replied lazily.

"Is one ton of feathers heavier or one ton of gold?" Chuuya asked.

"I don't know. What is it?" Dazai said in monotone.

"It weighs the same, idiot." Chuuya said.

"Woooowwwww. Really?" Dazai said sarcastically.

"Come on, why bring me here if you're just gonna ignore me?" Chuuya whinned.

"Brat."

"Idiot."
