DOUXIE POV:

"Douxie? Are you up?" said a voice.

I opened my eyes and saw Bell sitting next to me.

"I am now," I said.

"I was thinking, and I know you and Merlin must've been doing most of the spells—never mind, this might not be a good idea."

"No, no, now that you bring it up, I have to hear it."

"Well, what if I taught you more spells?"

No. Way. I couldn't believe it! I wanted to hug her as hard as I could right now! More spells! No one had ever volunteered to teach me more spells after two days of actually getting to know me!

"I'd love that, Bell!" I said.

"Good then. Let's get some breakfast first."

She stood up and left the room. I still sat there for a few seconds, unable to believe anything. First the Order and I form a truce. Then Bell teaches me new spells. I quickly hurried to the kitchen where I found Bellroc feeding Inferno.

"So...what kind of spells are you planning?" I asked.

"Your arm band seems filled with more common spells, so I figured we can work on advanced magicks."

"Like you guys?" I asked, a little nervous.

"Well, not the kinds of spells that you see Skrael and Nari using. Those will take a much longer time."

"How long?"

"Ten to twelve thousand years, but we don't have that kind of time."

She set a plate of food in front of me, and I began eating quickly and eagerly.

"Where's Nari?"

"She, Skrael, and Nix are enjoying a day out together. I'm not too sure what they're doing, but...they wanted a break."

'Oh, finally! I can go a full day without Skrael reading my thoughts or getting mad at me for even the slightest mistake!'

When I finished, Bell led me down the hall. We continued talking with each other.

"So you're the demigod of fire? Guardian of Time?"

She nodded.

"Skrael is the demigod of weather and air? Guardian of Memories and Thoughts? Nari is the demigod of nature? Guardian of Souls? Phoenix is Guardian of Emotions? What is she the demigod of? Ice?"

"Phoenix is ice, however every now and then she uses aquamancy. So in a way she's a little bit of both."

"Interesting." I paused, "Are you—are you still trying to restart the world?"

Bell went silent. She continued walking, but she went silent. "Skrael and I have been talking about this for a while."

"Have you agreed on something?"

"Skrael thinks that we should keep the Genesis Seals on hand just in case."

"And what do you say?"

"Maybe..." She sighed, "Maybe we should put them back. Seal them up where nothing will touch them."

Does this mean that...we don't have to fight anymore?

"Of course, your friends think that we're still heartless monsters."

"Well, I don't think you're heartless. You were just...confused, I suppose."

"Thank you," Bell said with a smile.

We entered a large room with dark walls that seemed to have a mind of their own. Mist crawled around the ceiling. The place made me uneasy. It reminded me of an old medieval dungeon.

"What is this place?" I asked.

"It's like a training room/arsenal/panic room."

"Panic room?"

"Don't ask. Now, before we begin, I'd like to see you use some spells of your own. I just want to see what "level" you're on, if that makes any sense."

I nodded and began showing Bell some of the spells I'd learned. As I practiced, I thought about Claire and the others.

'What were they up to? How were they doing without me? What were they doing without me? Will I ever get back? Do they want me to come back? Are they still planning to attack the Order? What will they say when they find out that I don't want to fight?' The thought swirled around in my head, and I lost control of my spell and fell backwards.

Bellroc POV:

"Douxie?! Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, Bell, I'm fine. I just—lost it a little."

I began to wonder if teaching him more spells was the right decision.

"Well, if you're sure you're alright then I suppose we can start learning Lanaue."

"Teleportation?"

I nodded. "Honestly if Skrael were here, they might have helped you a little more than I could."

Douxie seemed a little nervous, but still just as happy. He held his hands out in front of him.

"Lanaue requires full mastery over thoughts and emotion. Focus yourself on something. Anything," I said, remembering what Skrael would say.

Douxie was encompassed with a blue light and then he disappeared. I looked around.

"Douxie? Where are you?"

No answer. I looked at the large glass doors and saw Inferno scratching his paws at the door. I left the room and speed-walked down the hall and looked everywhere I could. I nearly thought about going to another dimension. It was possible if Douxie teleported wrong. When I looked outside, I saw Douxie sitting in a tree, tangled in the branches.

"Heya, Bell."

I sighed. Using magic, I removed him from the tree. I then turned away and walked inside.

"Oh, come on, Bell. Please talk to me," Douxie pleaded, "I hate it when you're angry. Just tell me what it is. Please."

"It's not your fault, Douxie," I said, "It's just...I'm going to put a tracking spell on you to make sure you don't get lost while teleporting."

"Does that mean you're mad at me?"

"I'm not mad at anyone."

"Disappointed?"

"Not even that. Just...please be very careful when you're using your spells. I'd hate for anyone to get hurt. I wouldn't forgive myself."

"I get it. I'll be more careful."
